A𝕴fter defeating Calyrex, you'll need to talk to the villagers of Freezington. First, head to theඣ fields in the middle of the town and talk to the man there, who will give you eight carrot seeds in exchange for eight Dynite Ore — this is an essential part of the quest, so don't forget.
Talk to the two old women behind him, the man in the field at the back of the town, and the mayor, who lives in a house up a hill just on the border of Frostpoint Field.ꦑ After going back to Calyrex, it will mention its loyal steed — this triggers the choice of whether you want your Calyrex to be Psychic/Ghost, or Psychic/Ice.
How To Choose Calyrex Forms In The Crown Tundra
After speaking to Calyrex, you'll be told of two possible places wher𓄧e you can grow a carrot for Calyrex's loyal steed. One is a "field covered in pristine snow," located in Frostpoint Filed. The other🌊 is a "field by gravestones, where those who moved on were laid to rest" in Giant's Bed. Both are marked on your map, but we've also attached a screenshot below.
Calyrex will ask you to speak to the mayor, but he's gone off to Giant's Bed. You'll find him up the hill as opposed to down it after✤ you leave Freezington, inspecting fields among some walled-off stone areas. After speaking to him, Spectrier or Glastrier will attack the village — Spectrier is the Ghost type you get from planting a carrot in the Old Cemetery, where Glastrier is the Ice type who shows up if you choose the pristine snow.
Head back to Freezington and defeat🌼 the level 75 steed of your choice. It will drop a tuft of hair, which you can combine with a radiant petal you get from Calyrex. Bring these to the mayor in Freezington so he can make the legendary Reins of Unity — except he can't. Instead, Peony shows up and does it, which is par for the course in terms of his larger-than-life personality.
How To Catch Spectrier And Glastrier In The Crown Tundra
After getting the Reins of Unity, head on up to the Crown Sh🅠rine at the top of the Crown Tundra. To get here, go through Giant's Bed and up to Snowslide Slope. Head through the Tunnel to the Top and Path to the Peak and you'll arrive at the Crown Shrine in no time. Use the carrot to attract Calyrex's steed. Once Spectrier or Glastrier shows up, Calyrex will use the Reins of Unity and they will join together in order to become a level 80 form of Calyrex. You can now battle them and catch them for real. It's worth noting that even if you make Calyrex faint, it says it is only testing you — you can try as 🌌many times as you want, so don't worry if you accidentally drain its HP.
Calyrex Forms — Is Spectrier Or Glastrier Better?
Person🔯ally, I think Spectrier Calyrex is far more useful than the Glastrier variant. It has outrageous Special Attack and Speed stats, which means it can make full use of its Psychic and Ghost STAB (same-type-attack-bonus) affinities. While Glastrier has solid base Attack, Defense, and Special Defense, the only real thing its typing is good 𒉰for is using its Psychic type to nullify its Ice type's Fighting weakness. Also there are plenty of solid physical attackers out there with much better stats, typings, and movepools that aren't even Legendary. It's easily outshone.
That being said, you should choose whichever variant of Calyrex you personally prefer. Just rem🐭ember,🌃 if you're choosing based on stats and battle potential, Spectrier Calyrex is definitely more unique, and far more useful in a PvE environment.
