Legendary Castlevania artist Ayami Kojima is contributing art to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Magic the Gathering's latest set, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Innistrad: Crimson Vow.

The set takes place on the horror-inspired plane of Innistrad, and sees a wedding between two of the world's most powerful vampires, Edgar Markov and Olivia Voldaren. Attending the wedding is the vampire Planeswalker 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sorin Markov, who is seen as an outcast by the rest of Innistrad's vampiric society for creating the angel protector of humanity, Avacyn. While Sorin's reasons were purely selfish – if the humans all died, the vampires would have no blood left to feed on – other vampires turned their back on him.RELATED: Everything You Need To Know About Magic The Gathering's Innistrad: Crimson Vow Spoiler Season

Sorin's role in Innistrad's vampire elite is represented on his new Planeswalker card, Sorin the Mirthless, that was introduced in the Innistrad: Crimson Vow reveal stream hosted today. A big difference from the dressed up, decadent vampire attendees of the wedding, Sorin looks casual and slightly dishevelled, in that Howl's Moving Castle, Interview With A Vampire kind of way. It's in this card that we see Kojima's contribution, as she has provided an alternate art for the card in her recognisable Castlevania style.

Kojima Sorin

Kojima worked on a huge number of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Castlevania titles, most notably Symphony of the Night, and Curse of Darkness. She also worked on Koji Igarashi's spiritual successor to Castlevania, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. If there's something vampiric, demonic, and vaguely Victorian, there's a chance Kojima has worked on it.

The Sorin the Mirthless card illustrated by Kojima comes both in the set's showcase Fang Frame style, which replaces the normal frame with a curved, fang-inspired ornate design, as well as in set boosters as a golden signed art card.

The card itself is pretty great as well, allowing you to make vampire tokens, deal 13 damage, or look at the top card of your library and put it into your hand at the cost of losing life equal to its mana value. Sorin already has a lot of Planeswalker cards, (this is his eighth), but it's definitely up there as one of the more interesting ones, both mechanically and flavourfully.
