The creators of Cards Against Humanity are opening a cafe in a prime location in Chicago. When ౠthe cafe opens in January 2020, guests will be able to choose from a selection of more than 300 tabletop games to play while they dine on multicultural dishes. Among more well-known board games will be new in🥂die creations from local Chicago designers, which will also be purchasable in the cafe's store. If players get their fill of board games, they will also have the option to do two escape rooms hidden in the cafe's basement.

The establishment will be known simply as The logo gives a preview of the general atmosphere, that of an old-timey pub. The building chosen reflects this theme, being a well-known spot that also hosts Chicago-favorite Margie’s Candies. It's also home 💮to an old bank vault, where the board game cafe will house its massive game collection. reports that guests can make reservations now. A $30 per-person deposit is required, although that money will be applied towards food and drink purchases once in the cafe.

The cafe will be open seven days a week, from 4PM to Midnight. This means the menu will mainly be geared towards dinner. The Cards Against Humanity company says that "the food will be inspired by the kind of dishes you would find in the markets and sidewalk cafes in Spain, Vietnam, and Mexico. The idea is that the dishes will be very flavorful but also 💜n🥃ot too complicated. There's also a bar area in the works.

When it comes to that vault of games, the creators have an inspired way of handling it. Anyone who has a reservation can freely pick from the vault, which will have both adult and family-friendly games. The selection will of course include Cards Against Humanity as well as standards like Scrabble and chess. More savvy tabletop gamers will appreciate that the board game cafe will showcase new indie games from local creators. For the not-so-knowledgeable, a team of "game teachers" will be on hand t🍃o recommend and even teach game🥂s.

Finally, the huge space also plans to accommodate two escape rooms put on by The House Theatre of Chicago. One is called The Last Defender and is a Cold War-era thriller that won the theatre company acclaim in the past. The other, Nova to Lodestar, is a space res♒cue mission created just for Chಌicago Board Game Cafe.

It all sounds like the perfect recipe for a night out. That's why interested parties should make reservations now, as the creators expect to be full on a regular basis. Considering it's Cards Against Humanity making a massive board game restaurant, that's a safe bet. Reservatio🍸ns are open now for Januar𝓡y 10 at the earliest. Visit the C to learn more.
