With all the recent hype about the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy VII remake, RPG fans are showing a renewed interest in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:PlayStation hits from the '90s. Buried in the midst of those great titles is Chrono Cross, a game that has intricate storyline options that shift which of its 45ꦜ playable characters will be available during your playthrough based on decisions you’ve made.
Whether someone is looking for a game to play while waiting fo🌸r FFVII to come back or they have stumbled upon an original PlayStation, it is definitely recommended to pick up Chrono Cross. For those familiar with this one, here are five characters you might have 🅺missed on your first playthrough, and five you might wish you’d skipped.
10 Never Had: Starky ♍
Starky is a cute little guy you encounter in the Home World who just doesn’t belong. Having crash-lan﷽ded in the El Nido Triangle, this nutty little spac𓆉eman is encountered on Sky Dragon Isle. Adding him to Serge's party is completely optional.
Recruiting Starky requires a little work. First, travel to the El Nido Triangle and locate the Star Fragment item. Once that is acquired, visit Sky Dragon Isle and defeat Starky in his MegaStarky form. From there, the player just needs to♋ chase him around for a bit and this cute little guy will join their party.
9 Didnꦬ’t Want: ꦺKid
Fans of Chrono Cross either love or hate this cheeky thief. The former orphan known as Kid is t🍃he game’s main companion, and she is integral to the storyline at certain points, joꦚining and leaving the main character Serge multiple times and having story roles in both Home World and Another World.
Some fans definitely enjoy the flavor Kid adds to the game. For everyone else, she is an oftentimes obnoxious charꦿacter who often blocks players from logical or preferable story options. Given that there is an entire story arc that revolves around her near-death experience, we can’t help but think developers knew ou🐻r struggle beforehand.
8 Never Had: Funguy 𒀰 𒐪
What happens when Nintendo’s Toa𒀰d character grows up? This guy.
When the heroes first encounter Funguy, he isn’t a very fun guy at all. He’s ෴a mushroom expert who is hunting around the Shadow Forest in Another World. If the playe꧂r managed to collect a certain rare mushroom, however, he will become so much more.
Showin🀅g no self-control whatsoever, Funguy decides to devour the mushroom once it is presented to him. This turns him into the freaky fungus man fans know and love. He joins yo🃏ur party at this point in search of a cure.
7 Didn’t Want: Norris ♌
Norris isn’t necessarily a horrible character. If the game didn’t hav🍎e 44 other perfectly good options, there’s a good chance we would enjoy using him more. He just doesn’t offer as much flavor as other options, and he’s a bit vanilla. Nonetheless, there is a point in the game where Norris will realize that Serge isn't who he seems and ask to join his party.
Norris is a military leader who is known for being rather blunt. He is an electrical engineer by training and despise💦s the Porre army in which he serves.
6 Never 𝓡Had: Macha 🔥
To preface, for those familiar, the existence of a character on this list does not necessitate that the character in question is particularly useful. Macha is a mother who uses kitchen utensils in battle and 🐲offe🐻rs very little upside. Odds are those who did get Macha didn't use her for long.
While her children are certainly the better characters to obtain, Macha is obtainable early on if Kid is not saved from her poisonin🔯g. While Kid isn’t one of🔯 the best characters, many players will opt to save her on their first playthrough out of compassion.
5 Didn’t Want🔯𝄹: Marcy
If Macha is an example of a bad character that is easy to miss, Marcy is the perfect counterpoint in that she is an excellent character who most of us never wanted to use. While she has incredibly high stats, herꦅ low health and defense can be pesky in more intense battles throughout the game.
Marcy is woven into the stories of several other characters. Her brother Nikki and her father Fargo are interesting story points, as well as her connection to Gener🌼al Viper and Riddel through the Acacia Dragoons. While Marcy has her merits, she’s v𝐆ery immature and primarily focused on her battle prowess. Her character does evolve over the course of the game, but she never becomes that interesting.
4 Never Had: Lucciಌa
Marcy’s adopted mother, from a distance, is a bit more interesting. A genius scientist employed by the Acacia Dragoons, Luccia is the genius behind the creation or preservation 🍸of several other characters that can be obtained throughout the game.
Ever the embodiment of a nerd, Luccia’s motivation for joining the player party is a search for knowledge. While cliché, Luccia does not automatically join your quest. Instead, Serge has to visit her on the balconyꦡ during the protagonist's second visit to Viper Manor and then go back to Luccia's laboratory with her. At this time, she will lend you her services.
3 🌌 Didn’♎t Want: Poshul
Poshul can be recruited two ways in Chrono Cross, either in Home World or Ano💦ther World. Given her accessibility and the likelihood that players will be looking for early companions, it is highly likely that Poshul was recruited. To be fair, there isn’t a real reason not to.
Regardless, odds are that most players also stopped using her very quickly. Poshul is just really useless very early on. Nevertheless, if you want to pick up your first recruitable character, you can either do so usi༒ng the Heckran Bone upstairs in the Arni Village restaurant or by refusing to allow Kid to join your party in order to pick up Le🎶ena.
2 ⛄ Never Had: Razzly
Razzly ⛎is a cute little forest fairy from Water Dragon Isle who came to the wrong place at the wrong time. Searching for a Hydra, she has found herself in the Hydra Marshes, imprisoned by dwarves and left to die at the hands of the Pentapus.
Razzly is only obtainable if Kid is saved when she is poisoned. Serge is tasked with obtaining the Hydra Humour from the same Hydra꧂ Razzly has sought out. If Razzly is saved from the Pentapus, she will join you. For those feeling extra generous, there is also the option to have Razzly accompany Serge in the fight in order to discover baby Hydras inside their mother’s womb, continuing the species.
1 Didn’t Want:꧒ Lynx ⛦
Lynx is awesome. He is a great antagon෴ist, and he is incredibly strong when Serge assumes his body in the story. Not only is Lynx strong, but he also maintains a certain “cool” factor which Serge definitely lacks. As it is that are truly hatable🧸, Lynx automatically joins the party for a section of the campaign.
Regardless of how one feels about the villain, Lynx will become a member of Serge's party who has to be used. To avoid spoiling all the details, let's just say that Lynx will be recruited and🐬 used in at least one battle. Some oꦐther characters are also recruited because of his presence. We’re not mad.
