Clair💯 𓆉Obscur: Expedition 33 - 10 Best Pictos

These Pictos and their Luminas are practically must-haves in Clai💎r Obscur.

If you're having trouble making heads or tails of Pictos and Lumina, never fear. This guide will break down exactly how they work, and how to use them to🧸 set up your team with the powers you ꦆneed to survive Expedition 33.

How To Use Pictos

Pictos are equippable accessories that you'll find throughout Clair Obscur. Each one is unique; finding multiple copies of a Pictos will level up your existing one, increasing the stat boost it grants when equipped. That means that each Pictos 🎐and its associated power can only be equipped to a single character at a time.

Each character can equip up to three Pictos, and you can freely swap them any time outside of combat from the character menu. There's no cost or penalty to equipping or unequipping Pictos, so you're🐼 free to experiment until you find a setup that you like.

As Pictos level up by finding extra copies, their stat boost will increase but their ability will remain the same. High-level Pictos are therefore better in that they grant more effective bonuses, bu♊t if you're equipping th⛎em purely for their passive ability then their level doesn't matter as much.

Using Pictos To Create Luminas

Having a Pictos equipped during a battle will cause it to make progress toward Mastery when you win the fight. A Pictos that has been equipped in four victorious battles is considered Mastered, and grants a Lumina for its ability.

Mastery is tracked by the Pictos, not by individual characters. For example, if you win two fights with Critical Burn equipped to Gustave, then switch it to Lune for another two fights, it will still generate a Lumina after th🐽e fourth fight even though each character had it equipped for two each.

Each Pictos can only be mastered once; you can't get multiple Luminas from the same Pictos. That means that Luminas are just as unique as Pictosﷺ.

What Do Luminas Do?

Luminas allow you to equip the passive ability of the Pictos of the same name without actually having the Pictos equipped. Since each character can only have three PIctos and never more, Luminas are the main way of equipping passives on your team.

Unlike Pictos, Luminas don't come with a stat boost when equipped. A character also can't equip a Pictos and Lumina with the same name simultaneously - no double-dipping!

A charcter can equip as many Luminas as they can pay for with their current allotment of Lumina Points. Again, you can equip an unequip Luminas freely, but you can't go over your character's LP maximum. Luminas can cost as few as 1 Lumina Point or as many as 40, so even at max level you'll have to choose carefully which Luminas are the best picks 🔯for each character.

Characters get one Lumina Point for each level they gain, plus one for each Colour of Lumina you spend on them with the Curator at camp. Choose Upgrade Expedition Resources🎃 when talking to him to apply Colours of Lumina to your party.

Lumina Strategy

In general, the best way to save Lumina Points is to equip the Pictos for expensive Luminas. For example, Double Burn costs 30 Lumina Points to equip, but if you're willing to use one of a character's Pictos slots for it, you can g🦂et the benefit of the ability without spending any. Of course, this only works for one character, as there will only ever be one Double Burn Pictos; everybody else will have to spend the 30 if they want that power.

Be sure to master any Pictos that you're working on before ওheading into a ♐boss fight. That way, you can freely change out equipped Pictos and Lumina, and get the benefit of newly-mastered powers, without having to keep an unlearned Pictos equipped if you don't need it.

While it might be tempting to load up a few characters with Colours of Lumina at the expense of others, it's better to evenly upgrade the entire team. You never know ✃when you'll ha💜ve to send in the Reserve Team to save the day, or make a key roster switch to deal with a particular boss.
