It seems like fans of Souls-like games just can't get enough. Bandai Namco announced today that its Dark Souls inspired action title 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Code Vein has managed to sell over one million copies. This number is a big deal considering Vein's status as a new IP and h൩ow it i﷽sn't related to developer FromSoftware in any manner.
This should also quell fears that Code Vein won't be getting a sequel (not that anyone was fearing that). It's always a gamble for any publisher when selling a new IP, but something about the anime/gothic stylings of Code Vein has spoken to gamers. It could also be that FromSoftware isn't making anymore Dark Souls games, leaving the rest of the industry a chance to cash ಌin on the craze.
The number comes less than a week after the first official DLC pack for Code Vein was released. Called the "Hellfire Knight," the add-on wasn't the🌼 most substantial thing around. Many were dissatisfied with lack of story content and recycled level designs. It was🌄n't the best first showing for the $30 season pass.
Aside from its Souls inspiration, Code Vein features a ridiculously robust char🏅acter editor. In an era where costumes are being sold individually in many games, Bandai Namco ꧒decided to let players have ultimate control over what their characters looked like. It's led to an influx of really creative tweaking from its fan community.
It's also just nice to see a game that allows for individual expression. With Triple-A games focusing more and more on cosmetics, Bandai Namco has seemingly found the best middle ground between direct monetization and day-one content. The DLC packs for Code Vein do provide new options, but you also get an insane amount of options froܫm the get-go.
Still, that isn't the main determining factor of what makes Code Vein good. Its minute-to-minute gameplay loop taps into the same kind of visceral action that Dark Souls had in spades. With ever-increasing challenges around each corner, it can become hard to put Code Vein down after st🔯arting. This new sales threshold can lay claim to that statement.
