You’re probably expecting me to talk about 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Overwatch and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Marvel Rivals in this review. And I am, so let’s get that bit out of the way real quick. Overwatch took the world by storm when it pulled so many people into its character-driven, ability-based competitive shooter ambitions in 2016, and Overwatch 2… didn’t. Wherever it may be now, Overwatch created a new gaming obsession that Concord is chasing, so a comparison is unavoidable.
The upcoming Marvel Rivals is doing the same thing, and has been far more successful than Concord before its even out of beta. 🅠Yes, it’s the Palworld of Overwatch wi♍th just how uncanny certain visual elements, game modes, and hero loadouts are, but it’s also an ambitious, character-driven, ability-based competitive shooter. The only difference is that it’s Marvel characters, which seems to be the ticket to a healthy playerbase.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网: Concord: Beginner Tips
If you plan to play Concord, knowing these tips꧟ and tricks will make it much easier to get accustomed to the game🍬!
That means Concord is drawing a short straw from a pack of already pretty short straws. Most players already have a game like this to turn to, and that game is probably free-to-play (though with some element of microtransactions). Still, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Concord is a game that deserves ౠa chance, and I’ve found plenty of enjoyment in my time with it so far, and hope to spend a lot more time aಞs it grows and shapes into something entirely new.
While we’re pretty accustomed to CG reveal trailers for new games, Concord caught my attention back when it was announced. With a sci-fi setting and a ragtag Guardians of the Galaxy group to go with it, there was a certain c🧔harm that reminded me of those 2016 Overwatch glory days, with character story trailers being a frequent addition. It follows a mixed bag of sharpshooters, crooks, and adventurers who join up to be Freegunners - a faction set on… I’m not quite sure, but they gave the galactic maps out for free, or something along those lines.
These are your choices of playable characters, each with their own weapons, skills, and varied abilities driven by a class-type structure. Though I expect the cast will grow over time, there’s already a wide selection available here, such as Haymar for your pyromancy needs, Lennox for your scoundrel days, and Teo for the classic soldier archetype. Whe🔯ther you want to tank, heal, snipe, stealth, or run n’ gun, there are at least a few options for you to try out.
Concord’s secret weapon is in the mocap vignettes that are set to arrive weekly to progress the narrative. The problem is this weap🅘on is firing very expensive blanks - no one seems 🍎to want them for such reductive characters.
We know Concord will be featured as part 🅺of Amazon's Secret Level to some degree, and there are some official animated Freegunnner Adventures o🔯n YouTube if you are interested in seeing more of these characters.
If you’ve played Overwatch, you pretty much know what to expect. There are some differences, like the ability for most characters to dodge, plus daily, weekly, and seasonal objectives as you play, but the core experie💜nce will be familiar. Some might even say ‘copied’, while the studio behind Concord was founded by a lot of Bungie veterans, and the level of polish and feel of the gunplay is immediately recognizable by that fact.
One notable difference 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:is Freegunner Variants - as you play, you can unlock varia🗹nts of each character, which offer different combat traits. One variant might have a longer range, while another of the same character might have more ammo capacity. It’s not a game-changing advantage, but it does mean you can pick a version of your favourite characters that will be more suited to how you want to play.
I was having a blast playing as Lennox, using a revolver to sharpshoot (or attempt to), but ⭕often found myself with an empty chamber and caught out because of it. Once I realised I could switch to my Lennox variant with extra ammo, it completely mitigated that fault I was running into, and boosted how well I was playing the character immediately.
Currently, there are three mode categories to choose from, each with a couple of✃ varying match types. The first is focused on deathmatch-style gameplay, the second is capturing the zones, and the third has one key draw - no respawn. Totalling six modes, each of these is great to play, but are pretty standard expectations for ♕a baseline multiplayer shooter. I’d hope to see more added in the future, with new maps, new modes, and of course, new characters, so just how much support the game will get is yet to be seen - but in terms of what we already have, there’s a strong foundation for something great, but the elephant in the room is the lacking player base.
Live-service is all well and good, but it needs the players’ support as much as the developer’s. I’m not writing Concord off by any means, and I’ve had no issues finding matches with other players, but it’ll need a big push to evolve while drawing more people in, otherwise the live-serജvice might be a bit short lived, and may struggle to build momentum with a price tag attached.
...And Of Course, Microtransactions
Though Concord isn’t free to play, it still features an optional storefront for purchasing cosmetics, including outfits, weapon ෴skins, accessories, and poses. I don’t think anyone is shocked at the fact that there are extras here up for purchase, but when the storefronts are often used as an alternative means of monetisation rather than charging for the base game, it always leaves a slightly more bitter taste thanꦏ microtransactions already do, no matter how optional or cosmetic they may be - at least the adverts in game aren’t too obnoxious.
It’ll need a big push to evolve while dra𝔉wing more people in, otherwise the live-service might ♑be a bit short lived
Concord 🌠doesn’t reinvent the hero shooter wheel, nor does it have any pre-existing recognition to fall on, instead starting from scratch with a new setting and new characters. But it’s not the♛ first to do so since the Overwatch honeymoon period of 2016, and to offer a fast-paced competitive shooter with a roster of interesting and unique characters, and the promise of longevity to come, is something that requires a strong direction and even stronger support.
It’s nowhere near as big as its spiritual predecessors out of the gates, and does🍌n’t have the immediate traction that games like Helldivers 2 had earlier this year, but I do hold out hope that Concord can stick it out to see the existing player base grow, and for itself to grow alongside it. Right now, it’s a fun experience that might be able to stand on its own for a few months at most with the sparing player base it already has, but it needs that extra nurturing if it wants a chance at a long life.
It doesn’t have a tidal wave of fans supporting it, and it isn’t free to try out or available with any subscription service, so it has a lot of work to do in order to make the effort of playing it worthwhile. Whether that be through trial periods, new modes not before seen in the genre, or even a boost from Secret Level when it airs months from now, but as a middle-of-the-road hero shooter, it can’t rely on any one of these things alone. Concord is go💫od, but it’s not in a good place, and there’s a lot of work that needs to be done to not only keep it afloat, but to get the motor running.
