In a short trailer at the Xbox and Bethesda E3 showcase, Contraband - an open wor🎉ld co-op ꦬgame - was announced.

Set in a fictional Southeast Asian country, Bayan, players take the rol🧸e of smugglers. The game is set in the 1970s, and will focus on exploration.

While the trailer didn't give much els♏e away, it's the latest game from Avalanche Studios, in partnership with Xbox Game Studios.

“Contraband is 🎃our most ambitious game yet and working closely together with Xbox Games Studi🍸os has been a great experience", said game director Omar Shakir after the reveal. “We can’t wait to share more about the game and the world of Bayan.”

Avalanche Studios is best known for both the Just Cause and RAGE franchises𒐪. Details are incredibly scarce for the new title, and we don't yet know when we can expect to try Contraband out, or what the gameplay would actually entail. If the aesthetic of the trailer is anything to go by (as well as the fact that it's an open-world title), it's ಌlikely that Contraband will borrow heavily from Just Cause, leaning on Avalanche's strengths.
