Friendship is the gift that keeps on giving.

The game also gives you an opportunity to embed yourself in the lively Coral Island community, where you can meet many unique individuals and even romance some of them. Wakuu was introduced as one of the romanceable NPCs as a part of the game's stretch crowdfunding goals, adding even more variety into the mix. Don't let his stoic apperance fool you, he is a sweetheart.

Who Is Wakuu?

Wakuu from Coral Island

Wakuu is an astronomer and one of the Coral Island residents. He spends most of his time in the island's Observatory, where he lives and works. Though, he will also frequently stay at the Lighthouse with his father, Wataru. His lack of connections with other NPCs indicate that he is an introverted type. Despite this and his intimidating appearance, he is not at all haughty. If you ch💃at with him, you will quickly discover that he is really nice.

Wakuu cares a lot about the state of the Observatory. He even goes as far as mentioning to you that, although the issue is complicated, he could see himself siding with Pufferfish if it means that they will repair the Observatory. This ♏makes him one of the most pragmatic Coral Island residents.

Wakuu and the farmer at Raja's Coffee Corner during his second heart event

Heart events are special cut-scenes you can geꦑt for each romance candidate after reach𝄹ing different relationship milestones.

Hearts as a marker of relationship progress do not just apply to romanceable NPCs. Every NPC in Coral Island has heart counts, and gettinꦯg heart event scenes 𒈔does not always indicate a romance with a character.

Heart events can only be triggered once you achieve a heart count milestone. They will also only trigger in set places. Some heart event scenes are even tied to specific time windows or other conditions, liꦫke the weather or the season.

Heart event cutscenes will also usually trigger in order. That is to say, you will only be able to view the hear☂t event for four hearts for a character if you have previously viewed their heart event for two hearts, and so on.
