Gardening Basics
Growing and harvesting plants uses your Explorer's Gardening Skill, which unlocks Talents that make agriculture more efficient. Each plant harvested earns points toward your next Talent Point (TP) in Gardening, so it can be beneficial to grow more food than you need. At worst, you can always sell excess produce or meals to the merchants for a few extra Ancieไnt ▨Coins.
To grow a plant, you'll need three things; a hoe to till the soil, a seed to plant, and a watering can to feed the crops.
Pressing the secondary action button with a hoe equipped tills the target tile, making it able to sustai🌠n a crop. Tilling the same tile again reverts it to its original state.
When you've tilled the tiles you plan to use for gardening, equip the seeds you want to plant and press the secondary action button targeting the tilled tiles. To speed things up, you can simply hold the button while moving. Your Explorer will only plant seeds in tilled tiles, so you won't waste seeds if you target an untilled tile.
If you place the wrong type of seed on a tile or decide you don't want to grow a seed, you can dig planted seeds back up with a shovel or un-till the soil with a hoe. As long as the seed hasn't started growing, it will pop out of the ground and can be returned to your inventory.
When your seeds are planted, equip your watering can and press the secondary action button while targeting each seeded tile to water them. Plants will not grow until watered, but each seed only needs to be watered once. If your watering can runs out of water it can be refilled by using it on any water tile. For this reason, it's best to garden near a water source, no matter how small.
Once watered, seeds will fully grow after ten minutes. After this time has passed, you can harvest the plant. Each plant you harvest has a seventy-five percent chance of also yielding a fresh seed of the same type, which you can use to r𒈔eplant the crop.
Plants only grow in the correct soil type for their species. This is the sam꧑e ground tile on which you find them growing in the wild.
All Seed Types
Gardening is useful for more than just food, as critical raw materials can also be grown from seeds. Remember to plant Root Seeds away from the rest of your garden, as the roots can overgrow your crops if you're away for too long.

Gardening Talents
Every five ranks in the Gardening Skill unlocks a Talent Point. Each Talent can have up to five 🐎TP invested into it, with each TP increasing the bonus granted by that Talentꦯ.
Most Talents have Prerequisites. To invest a TP into a Talent, at least one of the Prerequisite Talents must have a full five TP already invested.

Monster Ranching
By covering the ground in spawner tiles, you can cause monsters to appear at your base. Building an enclosure with walls or fences allows you to safely contain the spawned enemies until it's time to slaughter them.
A fence is recommended over a wall, as you can attack or shoot over fences, letting yoꦡu harvest your aggressive livestock witho🍃ut it hitting back.
The more spawner tiles are concentrated in a single area, the faster enemies will spawn.

Mold is also the soil used to grow Puffungi. Don't worry - Mold that's been tilled with a hoe won't spawn Infected Cavelings so your garden won't cause your base to be overrun.
