What And Where Is Azeos?
When you get far enough from the Core, you'll find yourself in Azeos' Wilderness. Unlike the other areas underground, this region is full of plant life and greenery that manages to thrive despite the unusual conditions. Unfortunately, it's far from peaceful with plenty of hazards and enemies wandering around as well as Azeos itself.
While exploring, you'll soon come across a huge arena where you'll need to face down this titan. The arena is marked by a large ring of wooden panels so when you find it, you'll need to put down the Large Shiny Glimmering Object to summon him.
How To Defeat Azeos
Azeos could best be described as a creature of habit. Like many video game bosses, Azeos attacks using a variety of patterns. While positioned in the arena, Azeos will summon pillars of blue fire to sweep across the arena. Despite being able to fly, Azeos doesn't move around naturally and will teleport between attacks. When it appears, it stays flying in one spot leaving it vulnerable to attacks from any weapon.
Though Azeos only uses fire pillars, it can summon them in numerous patterns to try and swarm you. It starts summoning two columns, one to the left and the other to the right, to move towards and pass through each other which you can avoid by moving through the gaps. Then, it'll summon them in a large ring that will shrink which you can avoid by putting yourself at its center. It can also arrange them in rows, one to the north and the other to the south, to pass through each which will also need to be avoided through the gaps. Finally, it will mix up rows and columns together to intersect as its health gets lower.
Destroy The Crystals
Its only other ability is summoning blue crystals. This is usually done right after a pillar attack and the crystals will spawn in random spots around the arena but are still onscreen. It tends to summon between one and three and while they do no damage, they will heal Azeos if left alone. They're very powerful, so you'll need to use explosives to destroy them quickly and negate their effects.
Azeos is always vulnerable no matter where it is, and its attacks allow you to focus on attacking whenever it's visible so use melee weapons to end it quickly. When defeated, Azeos drops a large silver chest as well as its soul.
