When you create your star, they start like everyone else: playing club cricket. Become a success, and you will find yourself moving up the ranks through provincial cricket to your national team, and beyond.
Lik🅠e its genre elder-siblings of FI♋FA and NBA 2K, there is a leveling up system in Cricket 22 - where your player improves depending on how well they play and also how well they train.
Here are some tips and tricks:
Understanding Cricket 22 Perks
At the start of your Cricket 22 career, you are guided through your setting up process by your coach. You'll be asked your batting and bowling archetype (the type of player you want to be), and you will be asked what your strengths are (your perks). Both the archetype and perks 💙provide boosts to your base skill scores, and also set the upper ceiling ൩limit for skills as well.
Depending on the type of player♛ you want your pro to be, you need to pick these carefully.
For example:
- If you want your player to be a batter specializing in test cricket - then you will need to pick the perks that relate to patient run accumulation and select the defensive/shot maker archetype.
- If you want your player to be a T20-focused spin bowler - then select the perks related to spin and bowling archetypes such as consistency/precision.
- If you would like your player to be that rare cricketer, equally good in all formats, then you must balance your skills.
You will also be asked to pick your weakness archetypes. You pick these in the same way you pick your strengths, but the opposite of what you want your player to be. E.g., if you are a test match batter, then your weaknesses should be power, etc.
You can choose seven perks. Try ♊and pick at least two fielding perks, then the r💙est depending on whether your player is a batter, bowler, or all-rounder.
While there's plenty of room for your customization and tweaking (with no right or wrong answers), here are some illustrative examples of the sort of skills that you'd want to pick for:

Understanding Cricket 22 Skill Points
Skill points in ✅Cricket 22 are gained automatically for each skill area based on how well you play in each match. They can🦂 also be boosted by completing training activities.
Based on the perks and strength/weakness archetypes you picked at the start of your career, there will be different base limits and ceilings for each skill. This is why it is so important to pick perks based on what sort of player you want to be. There is a hard limit, for example, on how far your batting aggression skill can go if you selected the blocker perk.
If you simulate your pro's matches (or parts of matches), you will still accumulate points based on how well your player performed in the simulation. There's not necessarily a skill gain penalty for simulating, but you obviously might not perform as well as if you'd played yourself.
You can view how your skill points are doing from the Skill And Perks menu from within the Player Hub.
