Properly preparing yourself for boss encounters or specific sections of the game will give you a huge leg up in battle, making things mu﷽ch more manageable for you to emerge 💙victorious if things roll in your favor.

Status Effects Overview

Before we delve deep into the various Status Effects in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion, let's go over the two main categories of Status Effects, which are Buffs and Debuffs, all targetting specific strategies and goals that should be noted. It's also crucial to note that any Buff or Debuff you can apply in combat, your opponent may also be capable of casting, depending on where you are, 💟the enemy type, and a bunch of other variables.

Buffs

There are eleven Buffs in Crisis Core, allowing you to enhance your offense and defense with small to significant increases in things such as damage mitigation, MP cost, and much more. The vast majority of your Buffs will come from Materia, the DMW wheel, and specific equipment, making it essential to manage your build carefully, especially when going against certain bosses. Do not underestimate the pow💫er of Buffs, as they can change the tides of battle pretty convincing𒊎ly in some situations.

Debuffs

Debuffs, on the other hand, only have six different effects but require equipment to help nullify their effects or can be purged entirely with potions and other consumables. When it comes to casting Debuffs, however, it revolves around taking advantage of the game's Materia Fusion system or equipping specific pieces of gear, which enables you to craft unique and potent spells that inflict your oppone🌌nt with Status E🌠ffects. Debuffs are the backbone of any JRPGs battle system, as you will have to find ways to counter specific Status Effects and gradually find out which ones work best against certain enemies.

Finally, we have the Debuffs, of which, as mentioned earlier, there are six in total. However, Debuffs are much more involved than their Buffs counterpart, allowing you to not only inflict them onto your opponent but giving your opponent the option to apply them to you, opening the door for many ways to purge or try to mitigate the effects.
