In the summer of 2021, Crꦿitica🐻l Role premiered a new show: Exandria Unlimited, a mini-campaign that would take place between campaigns one and two, featuring guest characters and a guest DM in Aabria Iyengar. What seemed like a short, transitional story turned out to be bigger than that: cast members Ashley Johnson, Liam O'Brien, and guest Robbie Daymond reprised their roles as Fearne, Orym, and Dorian, respectively.

Part of the reason this moment worked so well was the way DM Matt Mercer introduced them, surprising audiences everywhere by inviting "Liam, Ashley and Robbie to 🗹come to the table." This served as a sweet way to bring in Robbie as a long-term guest and reward viewers who had watched the mini-campaign prior to Campaign Three.

9 Bertrand's Death: Episode 3, "The Trail And The Toll"

Critical Role Bertrand Bell

The re-introduction of Bertrand Bell, previously one of Travis' characters in some Vox Machina one-shots, was short-lived. While he had an impactful presence in the first three episodes of the campaign — bringing together the group and introducing them to their patron, Lord Eshteross — Bertrand was truly doomed from the very start.

Many fans suspected that Bertrand would not be Travis' permanent character, and at the end of Episode Three, Bertrand meets his grisly fate in an alleyway at the hands of Dugger, the arc villain. His presence is felt through the rest of the campaign, however, with Imogen anointing the group "Bells Hells" later in the campaign to honor their dead acquaintance.

8 ൲ Laudna Speaks To "D": Episode 6, "Growing Bonds And Teasing Threads"

With the early reveal that Laudna hails from Whitestone, there was sure to be more to Laudna's story, given that her background corresponds closely with Campaign One. We get the next glint of it in Episode 6, when Laudna casually reveals that a Briarwood "lives in her head."

This is further addressed later in the episode, when Laudna hears said voice and gleefully refers to the voice as "D," thereby suggesting her warlock patron is none other than one of Campaign One's major villains, Delilah Briarwood. This is detailed even further in Episode 17 - but more on that later.

7 Date Night: Episode 10, "Ghosts, Dates, And Darker Fates" 💖

The NPCs of Critical Role are incredibly endearing, and none more so in Campaign Three than Pretty, an ogre and cook at the Soot and Swill tavern. When buying time while their friends do some recon, Imogen asks Pretty to join her, Fearne, and Laudna on a three-way date. What was a throwaway character quickly became one of the more charming figures we've met in Campaign Three, as Pretty treats the women to a lovely night at the theater before cordially breaking things off with them.

The date scene stands out because it isn't necessary for driving the plot forward - rather, it's a sweet character moment that helps build up the world and the characters within it.

6 Chetney The Werewolf: Episode 11, "Chasing Nightmares" ꦛ

It was clear that Chetney was holding back secrets when he first appeared in Episode Seven. This comes to a head in Episode 11, when he reveals his deep dark secret: he is actually a lycanthrope. The shock and joy of the cast is apparent as Travis Willingham's voice drops a couple of octaves into an indistinct growl, shouting, "You think Gurge has a gift? Wait 'til you get a load of me!" and turning into his wolf form.

It's even more surprising considering he'd been moonlighting as a rogue in the meantime, when in actuality, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Chetney Pock O'Pea is a Blood Hunter.

5 Meetin❀g Marwa: Eꦜpisode 12, "Make It Fashion"

In the days leading up to the masquerade ball, the group has a shopping episode, essentially, during which they meet the next magical proprietor to follow in the footsteps of Gilmore and Pumat: Marwa. Unlike the fan-favorite shopkeepers from previous campaigns, Marwa isn't as much of a refined store owner and manages a collection of odds and ends obtained from traveling.

The group takes a liking to Marwa immediately, especially Ashton, Laudna, and Fearne. (Fearne even refrains from shoplifting while Laudna returns the next day with a baked good.) It's clear that Marwa is going to be an NPC that returns, and we can't help but look forward to her inevitable integration into the party's shenanigans.

4 𝓡 Ball Shenanigans: Episode 13, "A Dance of Deception"

We finally get to the ball in episode 13, and it does not disappoint. The most fun part of the episode involves swapping out Lord Armand Treshi's ring during the Dance of the Crossroads. Fearne and Dorian find themselves tossing rings back and forth on the dance floor with Fearne yelling to everyone that she'd just been proposed to whilst Orym and Imogen make a show of searching for the ring on the ground.

All of this goes on while Ashton gets into a slap fight with another guest, Laudna's undead status is confronted by General Ratanish, and Chutney is on a secondary mission to invisibly follow Lady Emoth. It's chaotic and successful, and while it would be a stretch to say that the mission went off without a hitch, it sure was an entertaining series of events.

3 Bells 🍌Hells Is Off🔯icial: Episode 14, "In Too Deep"

For 14 episodes, a long time compared to previous campaigns, the adventurers of Campaign Three were an unnamed group. While some ideas had been thrown around over the previous episodes (with Ashton even referring to them as "The N𒈔ew Nobodies" at one point), the group struggled to find a name that represen🍌ted the eclectic crew, even asking NPCs they encountered for suggestions.

Imogen finally blurts out "Bells Hells&qu💧ot; as a way to honor their dead companion who had brought them together. This was a satisfyin👍g moment that was a long time coming.

2 Therap💯y With FCG: Episode 15, "The Tunnels Below"

Fresh Cut Grass is a cleric, sure, but his healing powers manifest themselves via his general positivity — he's basically a therapy bot. His skills — and Sam's research — come to fruition in "The Tunnels Below" when FCG finds himself doing couples therapy for Green Seeker Gus and Ogdes, who works for the Underrush Mining Facility.

The comedy of this moment comes from the combined relentlessness in which FCG helps the pair discuss their breakup alongside Matt Mercer playing both of the jaded former lovers. If you ever wanted to see someone argue with themselves as two different characters, aided by an adorable robot, then this moment should not be m🅠issed.

1 The Sun Tree: Episode 17, "Heart-To-Heartmo𝄹or"

Critical Role Legend of Vox Machina Sun tree Scene

"Heart-To-Heartmoor" aired during the seventh anniversary celebration of Critical Role and boy, did it have a lot of backstory reveals. Fearne is searching for her parents, who have been to Aeor! Orym is a widower whose husband died in the Ashari attack! Ashton wasn't always made of stone! But on top of that, we get confirmation of a fan-theory that's been simmering ever since Laudna confessed she was from Whitestone: Laudna was killed by the Briarwoods and previously appeared in the series as one of the bodies found on the Sun Tree all the way back in Episode 28 of Campaign One.

At the t༒ime, Vox Machina had arrived in Whitestone only to find eight bodies hanging from the Sun Tree, each one dressed to represent a member of Vox Machina. In a moment that was so impactful fღor the players, it makes sense that it would carry through all the way to campaign three.
