We've already counted down the best moments from Critical Role Campaign One: Vox Machina and now it's time to revisit the best moments from Critical Role's second campaign. Campaign Two gave us the adventures of The Mighty Nein; this campaign differs from the first in that we get to see the adventurers first come together as low-level monster slayers, meeting at an inn in the first episode and becoming a family over the next 141 episodes. By this point, the Critical Role team has become seasoned D&D players, with tons of incredible moments that shocked the players, viewers, and even DM Matt Mercer at times. Here are the ten best moments from Critical Role: Campaign Two in the order of occurrence. Once again, be warned - this list contains many spoilers.

10 The ♑Death Of Molly: Episode 26, "F⛎ound & Lost"

While the death of Mollymauk Tealeaf wasn't the first permanent death in Critical Role history, it was a huge shock because it came so suddenly and early in the campaign. In an attempt to track down the Iron Shepherds, who had kidnapped Jester, Fjord, and Yasha, the remaining members of the Mighty Nein set a trap for the evil Lorenzo only to have it blow up in their face after the beloved lavender tiefling is felled by a glaive to the chest.

This is a major turning point in Campaign Two, solidifying The Mighty Nein as family, setting up the big bad for the entire campaign, and introducing us to Taliesin Jaffe's follow-up character, Caduceus Clay.

9 ꩲ ​​​​Jester Le♍arns The Truth About The Gentleman: Episode 33, "The Ruby And The Sapphire"

In a reveal that Matt Mercer admitted was intended for later in the campaign, Jester's search for the father she never met comes to a head when she describes her adventure so far to her mother, Marion, after her return to Nicodranas. When describing the Gentleman, Marion's quiet, "I've told you about him before," and the cast's gradual looks of revelation cement this moment as a standout as Jester realizes the sweaty blue man she had met in Zadash is, in fact, her dad.

While Jester's parentage isn't confirmed by the Gentleman himself until Episode 85, "The Threads Converge," this scene is the impetus for their growing relationship over the rest of the story.

8 ✤ Mama Nott: Episode 48, "Homeward Bound"

With a character like Nott often playing the comic relief in the party, Episode 48 saw a huge departure in her personality when we finally saw our favorite goblin girl become genuinely concerned about the attack on Felderwin. Nott's anxiety is at an all-time high as she races around trying to put together what had happened with the halfling Yeza, only for her to drop a bomb on everyone when she runs into the home of Old Edith and asks about her son.

Although we don't get the full story of Nott's apparent reincarnation as a goblin until the next episode, the end of "Homeward Bound" lets on that there's much more to little Nott than meets the eye.

7 Caleb Gives The Bright Queen The Beacon: Episode 56, "The Favor" 👍 🌠

No one could have imagined that the odd Dodecahedron the Mighty Nein uncovered in episode 13 would come to such a dramatic head. In the biggest turning point of the campaign after Molly's death, the Mighty Nein are nearly compromised during their meeting with the Bright Queen by a Kryn guard who had witnessed a battle they had taken part in a few episodes earlier.

Caleb offers the Bright Queen the beacon they had found at the beginning of their adventure, which turns out to be a long-lost religious symbol and the key to building a working partnership with the Dynasty. This moment was such a turning point, Matt Mercer had to end the episo💝de early: this is the shortest🐽 episode in Campaign Two, with a runtime of 3:01:16.

6 𝓡 Fjord Stabs Himself: Episode 72, "Clay And Dust"

Fjord's tumultuous relationship with his patron, Uk'otoa, comes to a major turning point when the Mighty Nein finds themselves in Uthodurn. Angry with Fjord for not releasing him, Uk'otoa again threatens Fjord via his dreams and takes away his powers.

In retaliation, Fjord reminds his patron, "You need me more than I need you. Give it back," and then slowly sinks his falchion into his chest before throwing his weapon into the lava. This is a bold move by any means and also solidifies Fjord's eventual bond with the Wildmother; he becomes a paladin of Melora just a few episodes later.

5 The Cupcake Incident: Eꦚpisode 93, "Misery Loves Company"

There's a reason Jester Lavorre is a fan-favorite character: even with her penchant for silly pranks, she often manages to find solutions without resorting to violence. While trying to negotiate with a hag named Isharnai to remove Nott's curse, Jester offers to cut off her hands in exchange for Nott's freedom. As a final act with both hands, Jester offers to split a cupcake with the hag - which happens to be sprinkled with the Dust of Deliciousness.

Using the cupcake, Jester is able to successfully 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:cast Modify Memory on Isharnai and convinces the hag that she enjoyed Jester's company so much that she offered to remove Nott's curse in an act of kindness. Not only did Jester's quick thinking help Nott, but she managed to do so without the group having to battle it out with the dangerous hag.

4 Essek Is Outed / Nott Becomes Veth: Episode 97, "The Fancy And The Fooled" 💖

"The Fancy and the Fooled" premiered in front of a live audience and happened to bring us two 🍒crucial moments for Campaign Two. The first is the reveal that Essek was indeed the Kryn spy that had originally stolen the Beacon and given it to the Dwendalian Empire for study. The second is th🥃e triumphant moment in which Nott the Brave becomes Veth Brenatto once more: with her curse lifted, Caleb is able to change his goblin friend back into the halfling she once was.

This episode also gives us this legendary line as Essek's crimes are acknowledged by his newfound friends: "Welcome to the Mighty Nein."

3 🔯 The Truth About Vilya: Episode 102, "Ghosts, Dinosaurs, And Stuff"

While the reveal about Vilya isn't a major point for the Mighty Nein per se, this moment is huge for Critical Role lore, as it resolves one of the long-standing mysteries of Campaign One. When Caduceus sneakily casts "Greater Restoration" on their new druidic friend on Rumblecusp, the woman formerly known as Viridian has her memory returned and shares that her name is Vilya. With Critters suspecting for weeks that the woman might have ties to Vox Machina, the closing of the episode confirms it when Marisha realizes that Vilya is Keyleth's missing mom.

The whole post-episode discussion is a gem to watch, with Marisha even falling off her chair in shock and excitement at the revelation that her old character's mother is, in fact, alive. This is one of those moments that are so key because it's truly designed for the players to appreciate rather than just the characters themselves.

2 Molly's Body Is Gone: Episode 111, "New Homes And Old Friends"

Fresh off their adventure in Rumblecusp, the Mighty Nein find themselves back in the Dwendalian Empire to uncover the connection between Vess DeRogna, Aeor, and their old friend, Molly. The gut-punch comes at the very end of the episode; when the Mighty Nein travel to Molly's grave, so that Caduceus can cast Speak With Dead.

Reaching Molly's gravesite yields nothing: Molly's body is gone, and his coat is discarded several feet away. Jester scries on Molly and is shocked with what she sees: Molly (sort of), alive and traveling through the Frigid North. This discovery is the impetus for the Mighty Nein to take their assignment up north and sets the final arc of the campaign in motion.

1 Divine Intervent꧂ion: Episode 140, 🅺"Long May He Reign"

Part of the reason this one has become a classic Critical Role moment is that it all really came down to an unlikely dice roll: in the penultimate episode of Campaign Two, we see a rare instance of Divine Intervention actually succeeding when Taliesin Jaffe, who portrays cleric Caduceus Clay, rolled low enough on his percentile die to merit the Wildmother's interference. When the Mighty Nein attempt to cast Raise Dead on the body of Lucien/Mollymauk, the ritual fails due to Matt rolling a natural one.

​​​​​​​However, Caduceus quietly casts Divine Intervention and makes one request of the Wildmother: "Put it back." At this moment of unlikely success after such a devastating failure, the group is astonished to see the eyes of their dead friend open once more. Even if he has no memory ༺of his past self, thꦰis moment truly gave Campaign Two a perfect ending.
