Matt's Smile in Response to Caduceus and Jester's Theory About Beau's Father

After the encounter last episode with the hag Isharnai, the Mighty Nein further pondered Thoreau's (Beau's father) deal with her. If Isharnai only grants wishes in exchange for the misery of that person, then what is Thoreau's misery? He seems to have it all. Caduceus and Jester come to the realization that perhaps Thoreau is miserable. After all, he's constantly worrying about the debt he probably owes Isharnai for granting his fortune and his relationship with ꦺhis family (and especially with Beau) is very strained because of it. Matt's 🎉 seems to indicate that they're on the right track.

Nott's Parents' Names Are Revealed and They're Totally Canon

Nott is deciding whether she wants to use Caleb and Essek's▨ transformation spell to change back into a halfling since the curse is broken. The Mighty Nein obviously want her to stay with them, so Yasha jokingly asks Nott what the names of her parents were, perhaps to establish a kind of bond with her. Nott answers Ashley and Travis, so that's canon now, I guess.

Zombie Meditation

There's no better time to meditate tha🔜n during a zombie apocalypse. Nott needs some time to think about her decision to change back into a halfling and go back to her family or to stay ♉a goblin and keep traveling with the Mighty Nein, so Beau decides to lead a guided meditation for them so she can think on it. However, the meditation happens to be in a tiny hut... at night... in the middle of woods... while hundreds of zombies emerge from the swamp. Yes, definitely the ideal place to meditate.

The Chronicles of Sprinkle

Jester's weasel, Sprinkle, has been a loyal companion on the Mighty Nein's adventures across Wildemount. As a result, the poor little guy has been through some traumatizing experiences and Jester has no idea how to take care of him (or even remember that he's there 90% of the time). The cast of Critical Role likes to make jokes that Sprinkle is extremely angry with Jester or that this whole time, Sprinkle has been dead (Laura's not a fan of this one) and Jesꩲter refuses to accept it so she pretends he's alive. After all, the M9 have been through a lot of 🌸situations not suitable (or survivable) for a weasel.

The jokes have been frequent in recent episode𝓀s, but are in full force this week due to the number of times Sprinkle has come up in conversation. Here are a few of them, when Yasha tries to bathe and dry Sprinkle:

Despite the𝄹 jokes, Laura and Matt have established that Sprinkle is still alive, but that doesn't make the jabs at Jester's complete lack of skills in pet care any less funny.

Who is the Traveler?

The entirety of this campaign, the Mighty Nein have been researching and questioning the origin and nature of Jester's "god" the Traveler. The cast of CR likes to joke that Jester is a part of a cult, as for a long time, she was the o༒nly one who could see the Traveler.

Jester stayed awake one night to keep watch for the party. The Traveler, always hooded and features obscured, called out to her to enter the jungle and tal🌸k with♍ her. He reveals his to her as a fey.

The connection then becomes clear to a few cast members that the Traveler is🌞 the archfey Artagan, whom Vox Machina (campaign 1) made a deal with some 20 years prior to make him a door to the Material Plane from the Feywild. Matt confirms that i⛦t is indeed Artagan and that the symbol Jester carried representing the Traveler was a hint: a doorway leading to a path (a ).

The Traveler admits that he's not a god, but that Jester's belief in him since she was a child made him realize he could be like one for many 🔴people. Impressed with Jester's trickery with the hag from last week's episode, he asks Jester for help in planning TravelerCon.
