Cuphead is one of those independent titles that attracted a lot of mainstream attention. Its art style, its challenging difficulty, and its overall charm of appearing like a 1930's cartoon earned it many awards in 2017. The game has even transcended platforms; it was originally envisioned as a lifetime Microsoft exclusive, but was ported to Nintendo Switch in April of this year. Cuphead is also 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:getting DLC in 2020. The cha🎐racter certainly isn't leaving the spotlight a𒅌nytime soon thanks to the DLC, and now an animated series.
Studio MDHR, the company behind Cuphead, announced on Twitter 🥃today that Netflix is producing an animated🐠 show based on the world of the game. The animation will be reminiscent of 1930's cartoons, and will star both Cuphead and Mugman.
caught up with Cuphead co-creator Chad Moldenhauer and discussed a number of interesting facts about the upcoming show. The Cuphead Show! is a joint venture between Studio MDHR, Netflix Animation, and King Features. Moldenhauer confirmed the series will not be an adaption of the game, and to not expect a tie-in between the two. He compared it to Mickey Mouse shorts, and how they did not directly affect each other, or tie-in at all. The show will be a comedy, and Moldenhaur elab﷽orated on the comedic styleꦦ it's going for.
"It’s safe for kids, but written so there are also things that adults find funny and appeals to a wider audience. It’s not a toddler show or a little kids cartoon."
Moldenhauer confirmed the animation will be hand-drawn, but not entirely on paper. However, it will still invoke the 1930's fee🌜l. Below is🌳 the official press release sent to IGN.
"The character-driven comedy follows the unique misadventures of the impulsive Cuphead and his cautious but easily swayed brother Mugman. Through their many misadventures across their surreal home of the Inkwell Isles, they’ve always got one another’s backs."
Finally, the production team of The Cuphead Show! was also confirmed. Cuphead co-creators Chad and Jared Moldenhauer will serve as Executive Producers for Studio MDHR. CJ Kettler will serve as the Executive Producer for King Features. The show will be produced with Netflix Animation. Fittingly, Dave Wasson, who has directed a number of modern Mickey Mouse shorts, will serve as an Executive Producer. Cosmo Segurson, who worked on the upcoming Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling serves as a co-executive producer. Directors will include Clay Morrow, who also worked on modern Mickey Mouse, and Adam Paloian.
Paloian has worked on SpongeBob SquarePants. Paloian said on that the team is studying old cartoons like Popeye and Betty Boop to make sure the show achieves that "specific 1930s style and level of quality."
Everything so far is pointing to The Cuphead Show! being a success. The game is kid-friendly, but is very challenging for core gamers. If the show can grab both demographics, it should see a large viewership. Cuphead has sold over four million copies, according to IGN, and the game is still very popular. With new Looney Tunes shorts being💞 produced, the time is right for Cuphead and Mugman to❀ make their animation debut.
