Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red has promised that we'll learn more about the game's upcoming Phantom Liberty expansion in June, but according to a new leak, ▨we might even see its arrival then too.

As spotted by Reddit user , Polish games podcasters spoke at length about Phantom Liberty in their latest episode. According to his sources, ꧙Borys said Phantom Liberty would launch between June 8 (the same day as Summer Game Fest) and early July.

As evidence, Borys cited past leaks about an internal release date for Phantom Liberty set for June. Borys said that information was old, but his sources in CDPR said that work on Phantom Liberty is progressing well. On top of that, CDPR has changed its strategy regarding new game releases to have a much shorter marketing campaign. He even speculated that Phantom Liberty could shadow drop on June 8, Hi-Fi Rush style, but if not, it'll arrive a month later.

Borys added he'd been invited to play Phantom Libert at Summer Game Fest by CDPR representatives, so we know that it's at least nearing completion if not already there. The DLC is expected to add ten to 20 hours to Cyberpunk 2077's overall length, although fans hope it'll be a little longer for completionists to scour Phantom Liberty of all content.

As for what that content will include, speculation runs wild. We know that the DLC is being billed as a "168澳洲幸运5开奖网:spy-thriller expansion" and that it'll star Idris Elba in an undisclosed role. The New US Government is involved, much to Jonny Silverhand's disapproval, and fans even think that a classic Cyberpunk character 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:might finally make an appearance.

We know that Phantom Liberty has been 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:in development since December 2021, according to CDPR's latest financials, and that it'll be the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:biggest expansion CDPR has ever made. That has many fans hoping to see something of the same quality as The Witcher 3's Blood & Wine expansion, which added new quests, new items, new mechanics, and a totally new island for Geralt to explore.

Later in the podcast, Borys said that he'd heard CDPR developers are "excited" for Phantom Liberty, saying that work on the expansion has gone far more smoothly than Cyberpunk 2077 did. If one were to extrapolate slightly from comments made by quest director Paweł Sasko in a recent interview, this likely means that there will be fewer branching quests in Phantom Liberty so that CDPR could focus its resources.

Sasko caused quite a stir last month 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:when he said, "The cinematic BioWare-style RPG is dead, it just doesn't know it yet," explaining that the cost associated with giving a branching narrative to a triple-A game has become prohibitively expensive both in terms of money and resources.

"At least when it comes to triple-A, we are just running at a ******* wall, I think, and we're gonna crash on that wall really soon," he added, ominously.

We'll see when Phantom Liberty gets unveiled at .
