I’ve never necessarily been one to gravitate towards the cyberpunk genre (in film or gaming♎), but thanks to the hype that Cyberpunk 2077 has built up over the better part of a year, my interest was bound to pique at some point. Given my limited knowledge of the genre, I kind of just jumped right into the deep end by checking out games within the dystopian futuristic setting, which was easy to 🔯do considering everyone is trying to take advantage of the genre's hype.
If you too are eagerly awaiting the release of Cyberpunk 2077, satiate your appetite b♔y giving some of the other cyberpunk games already relꦛeased this year a try. Maybe just put The Matrix on in the background for that full Keanu-cyberpunk e🐈ff👍ect.
Conglomerate 451
Conglomerate 451 is a serviceable dungeon-crawler that features solid visuals of a dark, dreary, and neon city, with players taking on the task of tackling some of the most corrupt corporations in the various sections of Conglomerate. Of course, that is easier said than done as the streets✤, alleyways, and corridors are full of humanoids and androids that stand in the way of the player and their objectives.
Cloudpunk
Cloudpunk serves as one of the best open-world experiences I could imagine in a cyberpunk setting, akin to something like The Fifth Element. The vertical city of Nivalis is full of secrets to uncover as players control Rania, a courier for the less-than-legal Cloudpunk delivery service. Rania needs to navigate the city in her HOVA hovercraft deli♑vering packageꩲs, which is an absolute joy given the immense, pixelated, and overall visually stunning cyberpunk open-world in which players can actually walk around on foot.
Ghostrunner
What Cloudpunk does for an open-world cyberpunk feel, Ghostrunner does for a first-person cyberpunk experience. In the𓆉 limited-time demo available now through May 13th, players are put into the shoes of some kind human-android hybrid. In the short, 25-minute demo, players wall-run, slide, and grapple hook their way through a dark, dystopian cyber city, slicing and dicing up enemies en route to their destination - along the same vein as parkour based Mirror's Edge. Ghostrunner is an incredibly fast-paced game that already delivers solid gameplay and fun first-person action. For fans of the cyberpunk genre, this ♚is one demo that you definitely need to play right now.
