While Microsoft is making aggressive moves to ensure buyers grab the upcoming Xbox Series X, Sony is sort of taking a "wait and see" approach with the PS5. This lackadaisical attitude is putting developer CD Projekt Red (the studio behind The Witcher and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Cyberpunk 2077) in a b♊ind as it can't confirm if its upcoming open-world R𒁏PG will be able to offer a free upgrade to PS5 users.

One of the key selling points of the Xbox One version of Cyberpunk is that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Microsoft will be offerin🔴g a free upgrade to the Series X version when its next console launches. This means that players don't have to wait around for a "better" version of the game. They can simply buy Cyberpunk on release, begin playing the title,꧋ then get all of the visual enhancements if they decide on upgrading their console.

For the PS5, Sony is taking a much different approach. In a recent , CD Projekt Red's Michal Nowakowski stated, "In terms of Microsoft's console, like I said, we h♛ave officially confirmed both the update and the cross-gen availability...There's no official announcement coming from PlayStation so we really can't confirm or deny anything."

What does this mean for Sony's new console? According to the developer, a separate next-generation release will have to happen. "When it comes to a proper, full-blown next-gen version, that's going to c♕ome later," Nowakowski said, "we haven't announced when and I don't have a new comment here on that."

That's a huge bummer to fans eager to jump into Cyberpunk 2077. No company is required to offer a free upgrade on any of its titles, but Microsoft is ta💮king the impetus to give gamers a better deal. It wouldn't be such a big issue if Sony was straightforward with PS4 backward compatibility on the PS5, but even that is a carefully worded landmine of corporate nonsense.

If Cyberpunk was going to be the deciding factor in your next-generatio✅n purchase, it looks like Xbox is the console you'll want to go with. At least there, y♊ou won't be required to buy two separate versions just to keep playing.
