Digitaꦉl Foundry recently published a video exploring the Stadia version of Cyberpunk 2077 and found that it actually holds up pretty well in comparison to the version that currently exists on next-gen consoles. Specifically, DF compared Stadia Cyberpunk against the Xbox Series X version since the two share a common ancestry.
QLOC, the same folks that did th꧂e Dark Souls remaster, Hellbl👍ade Remastered, and PC versions of both MK11 and Injustice 2, also did the Stadia port of Cyberpunk 2077 based on the code used on the Xbox Series X. It's actually "a bespoke version of Cyberpunk 2077 built for Stadia as opposed to the kind of thing we see on PS5," according to DF, noting that QLOC seems to have gone to great lengths to maximize Cyberpunk's performance on Stadia.
Cyberpunk on Stadia comes in both FPS and Quality modes, although both have noticeably lower resolutions than found on the Xbox Series X version. This is likely due to the fact Stadia users typically game on their phones where higher resolution isn't a benefit, bꦏut it's definitely something to think about if you plan to play on a 4K lꦡaptop.
Curiously, the Stadia version and Xbox Series X version have very similar gameplay but strangely dissimilar game worlds. There might be a lamp post on the Xbox Series X version that doesn't exist in the Stadia version, while ꦕthe Stadia version has more bushes and plants than the Xbox Series X version.
Either way, the Stadia Cyberpunk 2077 experience🎃 generally keeps to a quality 30 fps and 60 on FPS mode and goes toe-to-toe with what Xbox Series X users experience.
That might not be the case when Cyberpunk 2077 receives it's next-gen upgrades later this year (hopefully sometime this spring). And it sho𝄹uld also be noted that DF used a public wifi connection with 200 MB/s download speeds. Good luck finding that in most cities in America.
