Boosters can boop targets and cause a small amount of damage. Micro-missiles and Fusion Cannons can be shot at the same time, providing great burst damage. Add in occasional melee attacks, and that’s a recipe for destroying squis🍸hy targets.
9 CON: There Are Many Heroes Who Counter Her 🃏
As D.VA became nerfed over the years, her counters became more and more powerful. Beam-based heroes like Moira and Symmetꦿra can tear right through her, especially the latter. S𓆉ymmetra’s beam can ramp up quickly against a D.VA and de-mech her before she can get away.
Reaper and Roadhog are notable, as well. Roadhog had his damage-per-second () increased, and Reaper got life-stea🔜🌳l added to his guns. Roadhog can also simply hook her into the team. Since D.VA’s Defense Matrix is much weaker than before, she is much vulnerable to these types of heroes.

Self-Destruct has remained largely the same since 2016. The only notable change being that Speed Boosജt can increase the launch speed of the bomb. Taking three seconds to detonate, Self-Destruct, or D.VA bomb, can deal 600 HP of damage. It has a 20-meter radius and can still deal damage at max range.
Nowadays, Self-Destruct🐻 needs t📖o be paired with Graviton Surge or Gravitic Flux to make an impact. If a D.VA can launch the bomb in a way that disposes of the enemy of their position, that’s still a win. It’s also a great way for D.VA to regain her mech during a team fight.
7 ꦗ CON: Self-Destruct Can Be Easily Countered
While Self-Destruct is a powerful ability, it can be easily countered. Since the release of Overwatch, Self-D♋estruct has been countered by barriers. Barriers can be destroyed or take a lot of damage from Self-Destruct, but it would save teams. Barriers are weaker now, but they can still tank D.VA bomb.
Sombra’s Hack and EMP can prevent D.VA from deploying it. Roadhog can hook the bomb away from his team or off the map. Pharah can knock it away as well with her Concussive Blast. Defense Matrix literally deletes incoming dama𓃲ge sources, such as gunshots and projectiles. DM can also consume abilities like Reinhardt’s Firestrikes, Moira’s Biotic Orbs, and McCree’s Flashbang.
D.VA can shoot her Micro-missiles while she has DM out, allowing her to keep up her assault while minimizing incoming damage. Players just have to keep in mind the 1.5-second cooldown DM after they use it; this s🅠eparates subpar D.VAs from experienced and competent ones.

Because D.Va is weak in defensive power, she's vulnerable to heavy damage output. Burst damage is the bane of this hero since her Defense Matrix lasts only two seconds. She also isn’t going to last long against a Reaper or Roadhog, as previously mentioned.
This hinders her ability to help her teammates, as well. The best D.VA can do for her team is to exhaust most of her Defense Matrix to cover a returning DPS player or peel for th🧜e other tank. She is still good at protecting the backline from flankers, (e.g. Doomfist, Wrecking Ball.

No other character in the game has this capability. D.VA’s passive ability, Eject!, allows the actual pilot to leave the mech once it gets destroyed. She gets a second life and a chance to regain heﷺr mech by shoot🍎ing targets with her Light Gun.
Technically, this gi꧅ves her a little more longevity than any other tanks, but it should not be taken lightly. As soon as she escapes, the player should retreat to the team as fast as possible. If players haꦚve a D.VA on their team and are able to help them, they should assist the D.VA’s retreat.

Going off the previous entry, Pilot D.VA, or Baby D.VA in the community, is very vulnerable. She only has 150 HP and no abilities. Her skinny hitbox and dodge speed provide some relief, but most D.VAs die after they’re de-meched. The amount of burst da🐻mage in the game often leads to little coverage for a D.VA.
Most of the time, a D.VA dies in the enemy backline or by getting pulled into the enemy team by an opposing Roadhog. Unless a Baptiste sacrifices an Immortality F💦ield for her,🅺 she’s done. This is probably another reason why people avoid playing D.VA like the plague.
2 PRO: Mobilityღ
Despite her disadvantages, D.VA is still one of the most mobile heroes in the game. Her Boosters last for two seconds and is on a five-second cooldown. It can also be canceled anytime with a quick melee to the advantage of the player. D.VA can wait on high ground to ambush targets or chase down fleeing targets when need൩ed. Her Boosters also allow her to fly at offensive targets while her DM is out. This covers D.VA’s team and discourages high ground DPS players like 🍌Widow, Solider: 76 and McCree.

While other heroes got better and buffed, D.VA got progressively worse. It didn’t help that her Defense Matrix got absolutely destroyed with multiple nerfs.
