D4DJ Groovy Mix 🐷might be a strange name, but the u🌜pcoming mobile rhythm game sure looks like a lot of fun.
Announced last Friday during the Bushiroad Mobile Panel at the virtual Anime Expo Lite held this past weekend, D4DJ Groovy Mix is an upcoming rhythm game coming soon to mobile devices. It is planned to be released in Japan this Fall 2020; an English localizat🃏ion is also in the works, though there is no official release date yet.
The Bushiroad panel can be seen in the clip below, with the announcement for the English localization of D4DJ Groovy Mix occurring at the 13:25 minute mark.
The wacky title is actually a shortened version of the game's official title, Dig Delight Direct Drive DJ, hence "D4". As the name implies, the rhythm game features four different DJs, meaning a ton of music and s💟ongs for players to try out. The game will feature live DJ performances and incorporates both popular music and music remixes for players to listen to and play along with.
A version of the game titled D4DJ Groovy Mix D4U Edition launched as an app earlier this year in Japan, though it only serves as a preview of the full game, containing only a few sample songs for people to try out. Below is a 💎trailer released in January 2020 that gives interested players an opportunity to see what the gameplay is like.
D4DJ Groovy Mix is being published and localized by Bushiroad, a Japanese game publisher known for its work on localizing other mobile games, such as BanG Dream! and Revue Starlight.
The mobile game is part of a bigger D4DJ f👍ranchise by Bushiroad, which includes other media beyond the game. So far, an anime series based on the game is currently in the works with SANGIZEN Animation Studio and director Seiji Mizushima attached to the project.
D4DJ Groovy Mix will be available for both iOS and Android mobile devices via the App Store and Google Play Store, respectively, in Japan this Fall 2020. At t꧅he time of writing, an English version has been announced, but no official release date has been confirmed.
