Yesterday, the Dallas Fuel announced the release of star DPS player Gui-un "Decay" Jang as they attempt to make a late🐻 run in the Countdown Cup and 2020 season playoffs. This news comes just after the trade deadline and free agent window, meaning Decay won't be seen on another team for the remainder of the 2020 season.
This comes off the heels of Decay not playing at all for the qualifying matches of the Countdown Cup tournament this weekend. Those weren't the first time Decay hadn't played for the Fuel during the qualifying mat🅘ches. Decay didn't play before the Summer Showdown and came back in for that tournament. Though they lost to eventual champions, Paris Eternal, they looked pretty good in the match. When Decay went missing the past three weeks, questions began ag🍒ain.
Dallas Fuel owner Mike "Hastr0" Rufail took to Twitter to clear up what exactly happened with Decay and the decisionꦿ for Dallas to move on from a player of his caliber. He talked about Decay refusing to work with the coaching staff and didn't practice or want to play anymore. This reflects bad on both Decay as well as the Dallas Fuel coaching staff. If Decay didn't just fit in with the team that's okay but it also raises the point of changing course for the Dallas highe🌼r ups and the staff.
Decay was 𓆉a hard carry for the Dallas Fuel during most of the 2020 season. His talent was almost unmatched at times throughout. It's unfortunate that Decay refused to play or practice which draws criticism to the internal conflicts of the Dallas Fuel. It seems like this season is pretty much over for the Fuel and it will be interesti🅷ng to see if the addition of Stefan "Onigod" Fiskerstrand is the right replacement for Decay moving forward.
