Another day, another Overwatch League pro retiring to pursue a professional career in VALORANT. This time it's Dallas Fuel's Zachary "ZachaREEE" Lombardo🍎 hoping to make the tr🍎ansition. This news comes from the Dallas Fuel and ZachaREEE who made announcements on Twitter.
ZachaREEE joined the Dallas Fuel at the end of 2018 in preparation for the 2019 Overwatch League season. He had been a bright spot on a stacked Fusion University Contenders roster and had the opportunity to help elevate the Fuel's 2019 season above their lackluster 2018 outing. Unfortunately, ZachaREEE never seemed to be able to find a groove with the team and was unfairly blamed by fans for the poor showing from th👍e Fuel. Still, he persisted and remained part of the team for quite some time even though his playtime dwindled drastically in 2020.
With the signings of new star DPS players for the 2020 season, ZachaREEE was relegated to the bench and hasn't had the opportunity to showcase what he is capable of. Now, fans of the Fuel won't get that chance again as he retires from professional Overwatch after four solid years. His skillset should translate pretty well to the VALORANT scene so look to see him pop-off in the future.
It's unfortunate ZachaREEE was never able to shine with the Dallas Fuel as most of the 2019 season featured unfavorable metas for the DPS player. He was a bright talent that should find success in VALORANT as he continues to pursue that avenue. He wasn𒈔't the first Overwatch League player to do it and he won't be the last. All we canജ do is wish them success in their future endeavors.
