Closing Argument
The first murder was accidentally done to Angie while the killer was preparing for the seance murder. With a saw, the culprit was cutting cross pieces to make the floorboard seesaw plan work. However, Angie bumped into them while getting a candle for her ritual. Having been seen, the killer improvised and hit her on the forehead with the floorboard. They used duct tape on Angie's forehead to stop the bleeding and carried her to the research lab. The culprit did not realize then that the duct tape peeled off and fell under her.
To further cover up their tracks, the killer did a locked-room trick. The killer locked the lab's front door from the inside. With a katana from their own lab, they killed Angie. They hung four effigies upsidedown with rope and stabbed the katana into Kaede's effigy. Then, they spun Kaede's effigy to twist the rope. The killer left, and the effigy spun the sword into the lock, locking the last door from the inside behind them.
When Angie's body was discovered, the culprit manipulated students into doing a seance. Kokichi, Himiko, Tenko, and Shuichi were invited. Tenko offered to be a medium and was instructed by the killer to place her forehead on a stone. A cage was placed over her and the killer draped a white cloth over it. However, the killer had snuck a sickle in with the white cloth. A wooden statue was placed atop the cage, and its weight held the murder weapon in place.
With the lights out and the seance being performed, the killer snuck in the dark towards Tenko. They used the salt-d𒈔rawn circle to guide themselves to her. Once there, they used their seesaw trick. They stomped on the floorboard and the other end with Tenko moved upwards. This trick had Tenko stabbed with the plac🐬ed murder weapon. Then the killer snuck back to where they were before the lights out and completed the seance.
Everyone cleaned up and unv♌eiled the cag♔e to see Tenko dead. The killer tricked them into messing with the evidence. While everyone focused on Tenko, the killer hid the sickle in a hole in the corner.
And that killer is . . . Korekiyo S🧜hinguji, the Ultimate Anthropologist.
