Nexos said that Dark and Darker used game assets from an unreleased game that was internally ജcalled "P3," which was eventually canceled in favor of a more modern survival game.
Ironmace has denied any and all allegations of stolen code or assets, saying that most of Dark and Darker used publicly available assets from the Unreal marketplace. It seems that Ironmace is in for a long legal fight, but it's one which fans seem willing to contribute towards. One forward-thinking Ironmace dev posted a GoFundMe page that raised $46,000 towards Ironmace's legal fees in just under an hour. This was all done without Ironmace management's knowledge, however, so the GoFundMe was taken down and the money refunded to players, but it sure does show the lengths fans will go to keep this game alive.
