It feels odd to start with Lautrec, considering he's sort of a villain and a scoundrel, but people really love him. He's found quite early in the game, stuck in a prison cell in the Chapel the Bell Gargoyles are on top of.
This is actually the best moment in the game to kill him for his ring and some souls. But, if freed and kept around, he'll tell players about Reah being stuck in the Catacombs (168澳洲幸运5开奖网:which is a real rough area), hang around making witty remarks about the other Undead, and eventually, he'll even kill Firelink Shrine's Firekeeper, Anastacia.

Logan has been undead for over 100 years now, kept sane by his intense drive to learn more spells and arcane knowledge. He's also the primary vendor for advanced spells for players using magic, and even sells Crystal Variations of his spells after being rescued again in the Duke's Archives.
Sadly enough, like all DS NPCs, Logan eventually hollows, but up until that point, he's a great character, a worthwhile NPC, and the one and only wearer of such a majestic and gigantic wizardly hat.
8 Marvelous Ches🔯ter
Unlike all the other NPC's, Marvelous Chester isn't encountered in the main game, instead, he serves as one of the vendors within the Artorias of the Abyss DLC. Chester, like the player character, is a man from the future who was dragged into the past. Chester is just a fantastic vendor, being situated very close to a bonfire (and the are♏na where players revel in their encounter with♏ Artorias) with no enemies in between.
Players love him for his unique style of clothing, his cheery and sarcastic manner of speaking, and the implication that he was dragged here from the Bloodborne universe. Though, that's a theory loved by fans that unfortunately doesn't have all too much evidence.
7 Andre The Blacksmith ꧑
Ah, next up is the Blacksmith character so beloved by the fanbase that they just threw him into Dark Souls 3 for the fun of it, Andre. Andre was originally another candidate that fans thought might be Gwyn's secret son back in the early days of Dark Souls since he looks so much like a smaller Gwyn and all.
But, turns out, he's just a buff old dude who staves off Hollowing by focusing his entire being on Blacksmithing. Andre doesn't say much, he doesn't do much, and he isn't much of a character, but there's just something so innately likable about him. Plus, if players try to kill him he'll show off his fisticuffs expertise, complete with a health bar destroying dropkick.
6 ♊ Hawkeye Goug🌳h, Knight Of Gwyn
That's right, Hawkeye Gough is another NPC encountered in the Artorias of the Abyss DLC, and he's the one who opens up the Kalameet encounter, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:one of the series best dragons, by shooting it down while blind. He was one of Gwyn's Four Knights along with Artorias, Ornstein, and Ciaran.

5 Iron Knight Tarkus 💟
Okay, this might not count, but what kind of NPC list would this be if we didn't include the Iron Knight Tarkus? Tarkus is probably the most beloved Phantom Summon NPC in Dark Souls, and for good reason. He can single handedly defeat the Iron Golem (most of the time) if left to his own devices. Sadly, players never get to interact with the non-phantom version of Tarkus, and they find his body not long after, tucked into the corner next to the Painted World canvas.
It turns out his armor that kept him invincible for so long was his downfall, as it caused his demise once he had to cross the scaffolding littered with Painted Guardians who probably pushed him off. Still, for someone seen only once, he's quite well-loved.
4 💞 Sieglinde, Daughter Of Siegmeyer
Moving onto the Catarina family, up first is Sieglinde, daughter of Siegmeyer (who we'll be talking about shortly). Sieglinde is a duty-bound knight of Catarina who has come to Lordran in search of her father. She's first found trapped in a gold-crystal Golem in the Duke's Archives but appears multiple times after in pursuit of Siegmeyer.
She's an all-around kind, reasonable, and admirable character, but what really sets her apart is the fact that it's very likely that she's not an Undead. This is rare because usually only those with the Undead Curse are sent to Lordran, including Siegmeyer, and they're never allowed to leave. Sieglinde on the other hand makes it all the way to the Ash Lake without the ability to respawn, and even seemingly returns to Catarina after the end of her story.
3 🍨 Siegmeyer Of Catarina
Quite honestly, it seems like Siegmeyer's daughter is a better fighter than he is, as she beats him at the end of his questline and she's able to progress without help or dying the entire time. Siegmeyer on the other hand is a much more complex and likable character, but he has plenty of flaws and is constantly stopped by his own weakness or ineptitude.
Out of all the NPC questlines, Siegmeyer's is probably the most well-known and is also likely the most emotional if players manage to complete it at Ash Lake. This NPC is so beloved in fact, that variations of him and other Catarina Knights were implemented in every Souls game after this.
2 🐭 Patches Of Many Names
Ah, finally, we've arrived at what equates to the mascot character for From Software, Patches. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Patches is the oddball character that shows back up the most in the entire Soulsborne series, as he's made an appearance in every single game outside of Dark Souls II. In Demon's Souls, he was Patches the Hyena, In Dark Souls he's Patches the Trusty, in Dark Souls III he's Patches The Unbreakable, and in Bloodborne he's...well, a gross mutated spider.
In all these games, Patches betrays the player, tries to kill them, kicks them down holes, and insults them constantly. He's greedy, selfish, steadfast, determined, and shady, but for some reason, we and the rest of the community can't help but love the scamp.

Solaire of Astora is by far the most well-known, beloved, and most commonly referenced character in Dark Souls' history, and for good reason. He's some weird jolly dude who simply painted his own armor and shield and went on a journey to find his "sun". He helps players out with a variety of bosses, including one of the creepiest early ones, Th☂e Gaping Dragon.
For the longest time, people were under the impression that Solaire was actually Gwyn's son who was banished and deleted from Lordran's history, but with the reveal of the Nameless King in DS3, that was finally put to rest.
