Combat is tough in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Darkest Dungeon 2, very tough. Even a simple skirmish can deplete a hero's health points in a few rounds and that can be hard to come back from if you're cursed with a particularly unfortunate carriage route.
Choosing your ability loadout is just one of the many things you need to monitor and manage as you make your way through the grueling campaign of Darkest Dungeon 2, and combat items are a part of that equation. These are single-use consumables that are equipped on a character's ability menu and can be extremely helpful in battle, either to stave off death or deal the killing blow to a particularly resilient foe.
Updated on June 3, 2023 by Matt Arnold: The full launch of Darkest Dungeon 2 comes with a dizzying array of Combat Items. Not only have we updated this list to showcase tried-and-true standbys that have been in the game since early access, but we've also added entries for our favorite new items! Scroll down to check them bout below.
10 Pyrotechnic Dazzler 🦩
The Pyrotechnic Dazzler definitely benefits quite a lot from the fact that items are free to use in battle - using them does not consume your turn. Therefore, it's easy and cheap to chuck this combat item onto a hero and fish for a Stun on a dangerous enemy.
Stun is a fantastic ailment in Darkest Dungeon 2, and it's quite a rare one as a result. Having quick and easy (if unreliable) access to it is a great boon, especially early on in the campaign when you won't have many upgraded skills or powerful trinkets to pull you through encounters.
9 Stimulantsꦜ
It's always nice to find something in Darkest Dungeon 2 that offers a good bonus without any drawbacks, and the Stimulants offer a two-for-one deal in that regard. They provide Strength tokens and a Speed boost to a single Hero, allowing them to🅠 strikeꦚ hard and fast in the upcoming round.
There are several Trinkets that offer additional enhancements to Heroes with a high Speed stat. Giving Stimulants to a Hero equipped with such a Trinket can temporarily activate its effects, which are uꦕsually out of reachꩲ even for the quickest adventurers.
8 Invigorating Intoxicant ꦕ
Death's Door is what happens when you run out of health in Darkest Dungeon 2. Once you've reached Death's Door, every single strike against you might be a death blow, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:r🐷emoving you from the campaign entirely.
Every Hero has a Deathblow resistance which dictates the chance of a Deathblow happening once they are at Death's Door. This item will boost that resistance, making them far more likely to survive an ordeal. Of course, it's not as good as simply healing them up and out of Death's Door state entirely, but it's something.
It could be possible to use this item in combination with powerful quirks that trigger when a Hero is at Death's Door, but this is a risky game. But then, this entire game is imbued with risky situations...
7 Crow's Feet
Items aren't great for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:inf🐈licting DoT (damage over💮 time) effects on foes, but Crow's Feet are more than a one-trick pony. This item doesn't just add a tiny stack of Bleed, but it reduces enemies' Move resistance and debuffs their speed.
This is great for party members who like to move enemies around - the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Occultist comes to mind. In addition, if you are up against ♕multiple foes with annoying resistances to Deathblows, the party-wide Bleed can surely help fish for D🍰oT Deathblows upon the starts of their turns.
6 🐲 Noisemaker
The usefulness of the Noisemaker is predicated on the presence of a tanky character in the current party composition. This item grants a character two stacks of Taunt and one stack of Block. The former forces enemies to targeꦑt ܫthem and the latter halves damage by 50 percent.
When used on a suitable hero, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:such as the Man at Arms or Leper, you can secure some important breathing room for your squishier heroes. The Taunt does last longer than the Block, however, so be wary of that and always keep track of the turn order to see if the Block would be wasted on a weak enemy's attack.
5 ℱ Adrenalin🎉e Tonic
At first, the Adrenaline Tonic seems like a detrimental item, what with it giv𓂃ing a whole Stress pip to the target, but there is definite value there. That little stressor is paired with a gigantic heal that can really mean the difference between life and death for a party member.
Whether this is used to save someone from Death's Door or simply to bulk up a tanky hero's health pool, this is definitely a situationally fantastic item. Obviously, don't use it on particularly high-Stress party members and you should be golden.
4 The Blood
The Blood is essentially a turbocharged bottle of Adrenaline Tonic - they even look almost identical. Gulping down a bottle of this stuff grants a hero one each Crit, Strength, and Speed tokens, ensuring that their next attack will be a doozy. However, it also inflicts the Hero with Horror, causing their Stress to increase each turn.
Have a slower Hero ready with some Laudanum - a fairly common item - to immediately cure the Blood-drinker's Horror.
You'll never find The Blood in shops or on the road - it can only be found at an Academic's Study, and then rarely. When you see a Study on the map, hover over it to see if it contains wine; that means it's certain to be worth a visit!
3 🦩 A Glimmer Of Hope
Possibly one of the most valuable items in the game is a simple lantern. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Glimmer of Hope is the only item in the game that can boost your carriage's Flame at your behest. Otherwise, you'll be relying on Inn stops and Assistance Encounters.
It is needless to say that you should buy this item whenever you encounter it. Simply put it into a character's combat item slot right before a battle while at low torchlight and use that battle to give yourself a little mid-route boost. You don't want to encounter the enemies that appear at zero Flame, after all.
Some Region Goals 🥂offer rewards if you make it all the way through without ever letting the Flame dip below forty. Use Glimmers to make sure that you earn that prize!
2 War Horn
This is a very powerful item. Strength is a great token to have, and the War Horn will grant it to the entire party all at once. Not just one, either - that's right, each Hero gets a fifty-percent damgae boost on their next two attacks!
An item like this should be cherished once acquired, and saved for particularly challenging fights - such as the final battle of a three-battle encounter or the final boss of the game. Being able to amp up your damage output so significan🦩tly is a very handy ability to have.
1 🌠 Triage Kit
Sometimes there is nothing more potent or more useful than a simple heal. In Darkest Dungeon 2, however, most heals do not work unless the target is already below a certain health threshold - for example, the Grave Robber's Absinthe ability will only provide some healing if she's below one third of her maximum health.
The Triage Kit, on the other hand, cares not for those restrictions. It provides a large heal to the target regardless of the circumstances and is the absolute best friend for the cautious DD2 player. Having a nice collection of thes♛e is a great way to feel mꦿore confident when taking on more perilous carriage routes.
