It can be upgraded five times, so by the end of the game, skill upgrades should cost 50 percent of their original cost.
It requires portraits and crests to upgrade, and while Training Regime isn't necessarily a priority, it is worth upgrading occasionally, especially before you want to splurge on skills. Just be careful not to upgrade it too often and neglect other crucial upgrades in the Guild such as leveling up skills.

Furnace
The Furnace is found in the Blacksmith, and it is very similar to the Training Regime. It lowers the cost of upgrading weapons and armor by ten percent.🅘 You can upgrad♊e it five times throughout the game, reducing costs by 50 percent.
Upgrading the Furnace requires deeds and crests, and it is significantly more affordable than the other upgrades in the Blacksmith. You should upgrade this occasionally, but don't neglect other more expensive Blacksmith upgrades. Reducing costs won't do you much good if you have no upgrades to spend your money on.

Patience Cells
The Patient Cells upg♌rade is in the Sanitarium. Upgrading this will give you an extra slot in the medical ward, and it requires busts and crests. This is worth upgrading from time to time, especially if you have a lot of extra cash on hand. Getting rid of quirks and dis🐭eases and locking in good traits turns your better heroes into mainstays that have a chance of making it to the Darkest Dungeon and surviving the game.
At the beginning of the game🐻, there is only one slot av✨ailable. Until your heroes gain a couple of levels and prove their worth, just let them go instead of wasting money on them. Other upgrades are more critical, but keep your eye on Patience Cells because you will want more slots open as soon as you acquire heroes that have earned their treatment.

Medical Devices
The medical devices are found in the Sanitarium, and💛 they allow you to treat diseases — wh🅰ich work like quirks. The upgrades alternate between reducing treatment costs and increasing the chances of curing a disease.
Heroes can be afflicted with diseases by getting hit by certain enemies, traps, or opening fetid curi♐os. Diseases generally reduce certain stats, so if a preferred hero contracts a disease, you will want to use Medical Devices to treat it. Otherwise, they will keep the disease for the rest of the game until they face probable death.
Upgrading Medical Devices requir💟es crests and busts, just like the other upgrades in the Sanitarium. Try to level it up as often as the Trꩵeatment Library.

Penance Hall
The Penance Hall is in the Abbey, requiring busts and crests to upgrade. This is by far the best upgrade to pursue in the🅠 Abbey since it offers the highest stress relief of any location in the game. Unlike some other more straightforward upgrades, upgrades to the Penance Hall act differently. They alternate between stress relief, treatment cost reductions, and increasing the number of available slots.
While this is an amazing location for stress relief, note that certain heroes will refuse treatment here. However, it is invaluable, and it is worth upgrading to at least level three to gain an extra slot. You won't need to use the Penance Hall until you gain heroes you want to invest in, but as soon as do gain them, you will want to keep the Penance Hall in mind.

Treatment Library
The Treatment Library is found in the Sanitarium. It allows you to reduce posiܫtive and negative quirk treatment by ten percent. Even when recruiting characters, they already come with quirks. As they level up, they can acquire new quirks due to spending too much time wandering around eerie dungeons with Lovecraftian monsters ready to massacre them.
You can upgrade the Treatment Library by collecting busts and crest♕s. You wil🧸l definitely want to consider upgrading this as your characters get stronger since locking in good quirks can allow them to overcome stress and perform better in combat.

Hero Barracks
The Hero Barracks are in the Stage Coach. They allow you to increase the total number of heroes you can hire. This is one of th💦e first locations you will want to upgrade, that way you can build up a decent team of heroes and ba𝄹ck up heroes who are recovering in the Hamlet.
After acquiring roster space for 12-16 heroes, you can focus on other locations for a while. Upgrading the stagecoach requires deeds and crests, which are essential to upgrading many other valuable locations. Start here then leave i🌠t alone for a while.

Weaponsmithing
Weaponsmithing is found in the Blacksmith, and it is one of the most important locations to upgrade in Darkest Dungeon. Upgrades allow you to rank up your weapons. Having more powerful weapons means more damage, and for heavy hitters, it is often the difference between life and death.

Even physical attacks can be upgraded though. Stats like overall d🦹amage, critical hits, and accuracy can gain an increase. Upgrading skills is essential, but it is also crucial to focus on the skills you use the most in combat instead of trying to upgrade each and every skill. Be selective.

Armorsmithing is found in the blacksmith, and it allows you to upgrade your hero's armor, increasing their defense and resistance. It is arguably the most important upgrade in the game since every character is susceptible to being attacked in any given fight.
Any fighter you plan to invest in should get upgraded armor. You will want to upgrade armor as soon as you have the cash flow, so make sure you focus on armorsmithing and keeping your armor concurrent with your hero's level.
