The Xbox Series X/S consoles haven't been out for too long, but it can be interesting to peer into the future to see what Microsoft could be working on. Mysteries and intrigue, sometimes video games can throw these up, and many of us like to ponder what it all means, particularly when it comes to console codenames. The latest entry in mysterious signs and symbols in video games is courtesy of a dataminer unearthing a word embedded deep within the data mines. Could it be that Microsoft is already planning a new console? A dataminer named Tero Alhonen claims they've discovered a new Xbox product, one called by the codename "Keystone" (thanks ). It's certainly a suggestive word, implying something important, vital, and ecosystem capping. Could this be something along the lines of the supercharged Xbox One X? An Xbox Series X One X?From the highlighted part of the mine, Keystone is listed as a "product" and what lends the speculation credence i🌳s that "Keystone" is listed directly below "Durango" and "Scarlett". Indeed, Microsoft has previous using codenames for its consoles. Project Scarlett was announced at E3 in 2019 and was revealed eventually as the codename for Xbox Series X. Mea🎐nwhile, "Durango" was a codename for the Xbox One.
Of course, this is all speculative and we're all wondering based simply on this word's proximity𒆙 to a couple of other words. But those other words turned out to be quite meaningful in the end. We don't quite know what "Keystone" means yet, but it is awfully tantalizing. And that it is next to code names for Xbox Series X and Xbox One is highly suggestive.
Microsoft has not hinted at anything new, but it's worth considering that console manufacturers do plan ahead and of꧟ten years in advance so it could turn out, years in the future, that Keystone did point the way to a revamped Xbox Series X. With the previous gen seeing beefed up specs in the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, it could turn out to be something along those lines. Or maybe even a new iteration we haven't yet thought of...
