Days Gone director Jeff Ross has shared that Days Gone 2 would have had o🅷nline functionality in the form of a co-op mode had Sony greenlit a sequel🐭.
Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier recently revealed that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a pitch for Days Gone 2 had bꦦeen rejecte🦹d by Sony - despite massive commercial success - as the company shifts direction to focus on blockbuster hits. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Days Gone director Jeff Ross then confirmed the news during a live 📖stream interview with former God of War director David Jaffe, at the same time sharing some of the features that would have been in the sequel.
One such feature was a "shared universe with co-op play" which would have seen online multiplayer introduced to the Days Gone universe. Ross then went on to explain that a co-op mode was something that he'd always planned for the franchise, but the team had to "make concessions" and it was eventually scrapped. The Days Gone 2 pitch had sought to finally introduce co-op to the sꦓeries.
"It would’ve been a secondary mode if we’d have done it in the first one, or even in another one," says Ross. "I wouldn’t have complicated the ma🔯in narrative… because that’s really what we’re good at. That was the strength of the first title, so build on that and make it better."
"So it would be with guys like Deacon🍨 trying to survive, building up a clubhouse or a crew. I think it would be fun to be in that world cooperatively and see what horde battles could be like."
Whilst the pitch for Days Gone 2 was rejected, Ross also gives fans hoping for a sequel the smallest shred of hope. When questioned about Sony's dismissal of smaller titles, Ross simply replied 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:"never say never to anything" hinting that a sequel c𝓰ould be on the cards at some point in the future. Right now, Days Gone 2 is not in development, but it seems like Jeff Ross hasn't given up hope of getting the sequel greenlit.
As previously mentioned, the Days Gone 2 pitch was allegedly rejected due to Sony's shift in focus to blockbuster titles. Days Gone was a massive success commercially but apparently disappointed Sony due to its mixed critical reception. Instead, Days Gone developer Sony Bend was split to focus development on an upcoming multiplayer game set in the world of The Last of Us and a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:rumored Uncharted remake.
