Hair has to be one of the hardest things to model without punching a one-way ticket straight to the Uncanny Valley. Getting ultra-realistic hair physics is probably more trouble than its worth in terms of effort and processing powe♐r, except perhaps for the shot at earning the bragging rights for being the one who finally nailed it.

Given Astarion's popularity, I won't be surprised if we see a lot more bratty vampire party members in the coming years. While playable vampires has worked before BG3, I feel like there are too many narrative exceptions that need to be made for them to work; either the game has to be specifically about vampires, like the Masquerade games, or, as with Astarion, the writers have to come up with a workaround that allows them to operate in sunlight so they can be a part of the team. Both are fun once in a while, but they'll get old quick if they're overused.
How Do You Feel About Baldur's Gate 3 Getting New Endings With Each Update?
As great as it must be for hardcore fans to have new content to explore, for most people I can't imagine there's enough draw in a new ending to justify another 100+ hour campaign, especially if they've already beaten it a few times.
Would Baldur's Gate 3 Have Been As Successful Without Astarion?
Baldur's Gate 3 is a generational title that's beloved by many, and with good reason. Players really seemed to love Astarion, though, thanks in large part to the performance of voice actor Neil Newbon. If the game were exactly the same, but without Astarion, it would still be a masterpiece, but I feel like the bratty biter was such a big part of driving the conversation around the game that he's (intentionally or not) a significant contributor to the game's success. There's a reason he's front and center on the cover, after all.
