While one of the best ways to learn a killer's counter is by playing them, there are some other things that have a good chance of making it easier to avoid The Mastermind's dangerous dashes. These can be used regularly, and most killers don't expect them.

His Power Is Not Good On Short Loops

DBD Albert Wesker And Ada Wong On Short Loop

The Mastermind's main power lets him dash in a straight line twice in a row, with a short downtime in between. This can be compared to The Demogorgon's pounce attacks. The first one is usually smaller, and the second dash is super long, around double the length of the first one.

Since he can't curve the dashes at all, short loops are this killer's downfall. To put a short loop into perspective, the filler car loops on the Autohaven Wreckers can be considered one. If the killer tries to use his power on these loops, it'll be a big waste of his time.

While short loops are inherently more dangerous for a survivor, when you're up against Wesker, the longer loops are even more dangerous since he can just dash twice, and you wouldn't be able to cut the corners fast enough. You'll see the real potential of these when the loop is curved as well.

If the killer understands that he can't use his power on these loops, they'll most likely try to brute force you into dropping the pallet. In these scenarios, it might actually be better to take a hit and save that pallet if you're healthy since it serves as a heavy counter.

Try To Bait Him Into Vaulting

DBD Albert Wesker Vaulting

One of the unique parts about Wesker's power is that, if he charges at a dropped pallet or a window, he vaults it at a pretty high speed. Usually, the killer would try to us🍒e this to their advantage and close the gap between you and them by baiting you near a vault location before vaulting it.

But, they wouldn't expect you to use this against them. There'll be many scenarios where you're running towards a pallet or a window, and you'll definitely get hit if you vault because the killer is close with his power charged up. In this situation, simply faking the window can go a long way.

To do this, run towards the window and turn left or right at the last second when you think the killer is going to charge towards you. If the killer dashes while you dodge, they'll go right through the vault. This will cancel their power a♓nd make a lot of distance between you and the killer, discouraging ꦓthem to keep chasing you.

A sentient killer with a lot of experience might be able to realize that you're about to perform this juke, and simply wait for you to be in the vaulting animation. To throw them off a little more, try looking straight ahead of you when you're running towards the window.

Don't Run In His Line Of Sight

DBD Albert Wesker Open

Running in an open area is a very bad decision against Wesker. It's recommended to not underestimate his dash as the second one covers a lot more distance than you think. Being in the open allows the killer to easily hit you with his power, infecting you and possibly getting rid of one of your health states.

If you have no choice but to run in the open, try to stay in a position where you can't be slammed against a wall when he hits you. Whenever he dashes at you, you'll go in the direction he's charging, so it's not hard to make sure there's an open area in that direction to avoid a hit.

In this way, you'll still get infected, but you can hold the chase for a little longer since you won't get injured. Although, this also has its potential problems. If the killer throws you towards the corner of the map, and you also hit a tree and get injured, you're basically downed already since there's no escape.

Avoid Running With Another Survivor

DBD Meg And Rebecca

The survivor gameplay in Dead By Daylight is all about cooperating with your teammates to escape a dreadful killer. But, grouping up with your teammates against The Mastermind can be a terrible decision. He has the ability to slam survivors into objects and other survivors.

When Wesker slams one survivor into another, they both get injured if they're healthy and get the Deep Wound effect. Apart from losing two health states overall, this also wastes the time it takes for the survivor to mend. This can easily be overwhelming if you're used to grouping up with other survivors.

While it's essential to run behind an injured survivor to take the hit if you're healthy sometimes, it is recommended not to do it when the survivor getting chased is healthy to avoid this.

Perks To Counter Albert Wesker

DBD Albert Wesker Aura Revealed

And finally, Dead By Daylight has over seven pages of perks for survivors now, and some of them can give you an edge against Albert Wesker because of how his abilities work. Some of these ℱthat outshine against him are:

  • Sprint Burst - This is one of the few exhaustion perks in the game, and it's also one of the most common ones. While Wesker has a larger terror radius than normal, he can still get close to you while you're on a generator without too much of a warning. This perk can help you escape his grasp and make it to a safer location in these scenarios.
  • Aura Reading Perks - On longer loops like the Shack or maze tiles, this killer gets an edge because he can dash to one corner and then instantly dash towards you, leaving you little reaction time to dodge. Aura reading perks like Wiretap or Object of Obsession can help you a lot in these scenarios because you can tell when they're charging their power.
  • Any Means Necessary - There was a little trick against this killer during the player test-build involving this perk, but that's been patched by the developers. Still, this perk can be amazing against Wesker because the killer is incentivized to not break pallets, which allows for the potential of recycling them.
  • Quick And Quiet - As mentioned before, cutting corners at the correct time is essential when going against this killer because of his ability to charge through them at a great speed. But, at times when it's not possible, you can get into a corner locker with Quick and Quiet to throw the killer off a little.

This can further be combined with Head On to guarantee your escape even if he does realize what you're doing. Although, you can't use Head On with Sprint Burst since they're both Exhaustion perks.

  • Distortion - While this perk doesn't directly counter Wesker, aura reading perks are a great addition for him and most of the killers use perks like Barbecue & Chili or Bitter Murmur which can be directly countered using this perk.
  • Technician - If you're new to the game, skill checks can be fairly hard to hit. Since this killer can easily traverse a lot of distance, the last thing you'd want to do is alert him about your location. Technician can help you in that scenario, given that your generator will regress a little more if you miss a skill check.

Repressed Alliance can also have a🃏 similar effect, since you can block the generator whenever the killer comes n✤ear you.

If he has just hooked someone, this can preve✤nt them from using per𝔍ks like Pop Goes The Weasel on your generator.
