The Nightmare or Freddy Kreuger is an interesting Killer within the lore of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dead By Daylight. With his desire to hunt and kill🎶 children and young adults he seems almost designed to go after the majority of the Survivors in the game.
While many fans are likely familiar with the character from his movie franchise Nightmare On Elm Street there areꦦ some interesting differences and quirks in the game. In fact there are many deta𝕴ils that the casual fan probably didn’t notice about this scarred monstrosity.
10 It’s Not The Classic Freddy 𒁃
One interesting tidbit many fans probably missed is that the Nightmare stalked players in the game isn’t based on the classical Fr🐽eddy from the movies in the 80’s. In fact this character is based on the Freddy from the remake of 2010.
The visual differences are minor with the scars being more realistic, the iconic sweater being less tattered, and a slightly different hat. Probably the most noticeable difference is his nemesis Quent𝓡in Smith, a character🐻 that only existed in the remake.
9 ꦏ His Eyes Don’t Glow✅
Another in🌱teresting fact is that the Nightmare is one of the few killers that doesn’t have glowing eyes. Out of th🌸e 21 killers only nine don’t have glowing eyes being; the Nightmare, Trapper, Nurse, The Shape, Hag, Huntress, Cannibal, and Pig.
It’s unclear why this is the case as technically The Nightmare is a ghost and a🐓ll other ghosts in the game with faces, such🦩 as the Spirit or the Wraith, have glowing eyes. It seems whatever power is driving the other Killers is not in the Nightmare.
8 Quietest Breather 𝓰
Out of all the Killers the Nightmare is the quietest breather. Even more interesting is that his breathing is so quiet it puts him on par with most 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:survivors. This makes it very difficult for survivors to tra💯ck him by his breath alone👍 and makes him much stealthier.
The reason for this is unknown. It could be that as a ghost he technically doesn🎶’t need to breath, but this wouldn’t explain why his breathing is quieter than say the Wraith. It could be that the Nightmare doesn’t use his breathing to intimidate and prefers to sneak up on his victims.
7 Voiced By The Art Director 🥀
The voice actor for the Nightmare is Filip Ivanovic, the Art Director at Behaviour Interactive. In fact ꦚthis samꦯe individual is the voice actor for the Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, Cannibal, and the Survivor Jeff Johansen.
In fact, many fans believe that the Survivor Jeff was inspired by Filip himself given their love of art and chosen mediums. Fortunatel♚y, there seems to be no indication that the other characters were inspired by him in any way.
6 M𓃲omento Mori
The Momento Mori that Freddy can perform in the game is directly inspired by the second movie in the franchise, A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge. Towards the end of the movie Freddy surprises the main character Jesse and stabs hi♛m through the back.
That exact same kill is how the Nightmare carries out his Momento Mori in the game. It’s unclear why the developers chose that death as opposedꦿ to a death from 2010, but it’s a n﷽ice call back to the classical Freddy.
5 🏅 Nightmare’s Own Realm
While other Killers use realms, like the Demogorgon using the Upside down or the Nurse using the Spirit World, the🍬 Nightmare&rsqu⛄o;s Dream World is very unique. First and foremost is the fact that Survivors can actually travel to that realm.
All other realms are gateways for Killers to obtain abilities 🦋or travel across the map quickly. The Dream World is the only one where the Killer can stalk and kill Survivors.
4 The Entity Focused His Powers🦄
It’s established that when the Nightmare was taken by the Entity it caused some of his powers to become more focused. Casual viewers of the movies might not notice this, but the Nightmare in the game has a particular power he didn’t have before.
Whenever a Survivor is in his presence they will slowly succumb to sleep until finding themselve🐼s entering the Dream World. In the movies Freddy’s victims needed to fall asleep on their own and he had no influence on this, it’s clearly a new power granted by the Entity.
3 ꦇ The Entity Also Stripped A♓way Powers
The other side of that coin is that the Entity also stripped or diminished some of the Nightmare’s other powers. In the movies he had the ability to manipulate reality itself through🦹 shapeshifting and telepathy.
These powers are o🍷bviously missing from the games leaving the Nightmare with more simplistic abilities. Sure he still has the Dream World and can cause hallucinations like the Generators emitting blood, but gone are his abilities to say pretend to be a generatoᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚr or take on the appearance of a survivor.
2 He’s Shoඣrt 🍸
When compared to the other Killers, the Nightmare is surprisingly short. From a lore perspective this could explain why his targets in life were largely children and teenagers as targeting a full grown adult could ꦿbe a problem.
Evidence that he’s short is when he vaults through the windows of the environment. Most Killers will simply step through one leg at a time. But the Nightmare puts ꦚboth hands on the ledge and lifts himself over. The only other Killers that do this are the Pig and Ghost Face.
1 🦩 His Lullaby Has No Lyrics ൩
An interesting detail about the Nightmare is that his iconic lullaby makes an appearance whenever a Survivor enters the Dream World. What’s interesting is that the lullab⛎y doesn’t have the infamous lyrics, it’s simply young children humming the tune.
This is likely due to🦂 copyright reasons, but the lore reason is ignored by the꧒ developers. Some fans suggest this is because the Nightmare’s powers have been scaled back by the Entity and this is one of the abilities that ended up on the chopping block.
