If ever there was a character in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dead By Daylight that was absolutely evil to their core, it would be The Doctor. Introduced with the Chapter IV: Spark of Madness DLC. The Doctor, or Herman Carter as he was once known before succumbing to his darker impulses, is a sadistic surgeon that performed experimental mind control surgeries in secret for the CIA on a hidden Blacksite. His demonic practices were what secured him a spot in the Entity's good graces and in the Trials he enjoys flexing his murderous medical prowess.
This psychotic physician uses electroshock therapy-based attacks that alter a Survivor's perception of reality to a debilitating degree. He's a mind-bending monster with some interesting mechanics that can be tricky to wrap your head around at first, so with that in mind, here are a few tips for playing as The Doctor in Dead By Daylight.
10 Practice Makes Perfect 𝓡
The simplest tip that can be given for The Doctor is to play with him often to get used to his mechanics. He's ranked as a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Hard Killer in Dead By Daylight by the Community for a reason, so keep that in mind when you pick him 🗹for a Trial.
Whilst you can fall into the usual chase, hit, hook, rhythm as you would any other character, it will only get you so far. He's a very ability-heavy character, so if you want to make the most of him you're going to need to get used to how all of his powers work because they're a little complicated. Get used to their range and their cooldowns as once you get them under your belt it becomes much easier to start steamrolling.
9 Get Onboard The Crazy Trai꧟n
The strongest ability of The Doctor, and arguably the best in the game, is how this Killer messes with other players' perceptions of reality. His abilities of Carter’s Spark, Shock Therapy, and Static Blast can inflict the Madness Status Effect and it's a debuff you don't want to overlook. There are three stages to the Madness and it increases with every successful hit.
The first strike causes Survivors to scream, at the second level, the yells of terror are more frequent and visual hallucinations appear in the form of an illusionary Doctor that stands there motionless, looming out of the darkness. At the final stage the screaming is near-constant, the hallucinations more frequent and vivid and Survivors are no longer able to perform any action aside from vaulting or dropping pallets. Also, as each level progresses there’s a chance it could trigger a difficult Madness Skill Check, which if performed successfully, will reset the debuff back to the first stage. It’s a nasty a🌜bility that can cause a lot of problems for the other team, so use it as often as you can.
8 He's Best Played Aggressively
The Killers in Dead By Daylight are absolutely fascinating, as they all have a particular play style that suits them best. In the case of The Doctor, aggression 🀅is going to be your best friend as🦩 the more madness you inflict, the more effective he becomes.
His abilities are all about sowing fear, confusion, and discord amongst the Survivors and he can cause some real chaos once he gets going. Ideally, you should be out there inflicting Madness as often as you can as the more it builds in strength, the less actions they can perform to♒ escape.
7 🗹 The Doctor Performs Well On Small Maps
An interesting thing about this game is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dead By Daylights map meta. Certain maps become playgrounds for Killers, whilst others are complete nightmares. Despite how complicated The Doctor seems, he actually ♊has a pretty decent amount of level versatility. He performs well on both large and small maps, but cramped spaces are where he really excels.
Tight corridors and rooms make perfect spots for Shock Therapy to be used as this ranged attack can hit a lot of targets with its wide AOE. If you encounter a group and activate it, there's a good chance you'll hit them all at once. Maps that are perfect for this Killer would be Midwich Elementary, The MacMillan Estate, and the Asylum as examples. So if you have any offerings that can swing the vote in favor of these it's highly recommended you use them.
6 🐠 His Starting Perks Are Pretty Strong
The starting 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Perks for a Killerဣ in Dead By Daylight can vary in their usefulness, sometimes their basic loadout is woefully underpowered or it’s ridiculously beefy. The 🌃Doctor falls midway between the two camps as his starting Perks are pretty strong, but they’re also worth a very minor cha🦹nge further down the line.
For example, Overwhelming Presence is good because it increases item depletion when you’re in range, making healing or using an escape item like the flashlight less effective. Then there's Overcharge, which is also handy because it inflicts a difficult skill check on the next Survivor that uses a generator that’s been damaged and also increases its regression a small amount. However, his Monitor And Abuse Perk is where things go wrong. It does a decent job, but it does shorten the range of Static Blast when you're not in a chase, so unless you're constantly behind other players, it's not as useful as the other starting passives are and worth swapping out.
5 🤡 The Best Perks For The Doctor
As stated already, The Doctor's starting build is pretty useful and it can see you through to victory fairly regularly. But, if you must tweak the loadout of this medical-themed murderer then there are a couple of Teachable Perks that are perfect for him.
To start off, Whispers is great for player detection as you hear audible murmurings when a Survivor is within 32 meters from you, and that’s just at its base level as fully maxed out it reaches a massive range of up to 48 meters. Then there’s Pop Goes The Weasel, which is a fantastic replacement for Overcharge as its starting generator regression rate is 25 percent, a significant step up from Overcharge's smaller 5 percent. Combine it with Thrilling Tremors which blocks generators that are not being repaired for 16 seconds and you have some serious lockdown skills to play with.
4 The Best Add-Ons For The Doctor 🀅 🍷
If you’re looking to give your particular Killer a pretty big power bump then the Add-ons are always a good place to start. In The Doctor's case, he has a lot of nasty toys in his bag to play with. There are the standard stat bump increases, but there are also some interesting tweaks you can make to his powers that range from minor improvements, to completely changing them.
If you use Interview Tape it changes Shock Therapy from an AOE into a directional beam, whilst Order-Class One is the lowest tier of a new ability that replaces broken pallets with illusionary ones. Or bring along Iridescent Queen to add a fun chain lightning effect to Static Shock to hit multiple Survivors that are within four meters of each other. Finally, if you want to really mess with the heads of other players use Iridescent King, as it creates a constant illusionary Terror Radius and Red Stain behind Survivors at 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Tier Three Madness whilst showing you the auras of all illusionary objects. So you can fill a map with mind-bendiꦬng anarchy, then s🃏it back and watch everyone run around in fear like rats in a maze.
3 ꦚ Shock Therapy Works Well Near Props
The Doctor's Shock Therapy ability is by far one of the best crowd control powers in Dead By Daylight as other Killers can often struggle when faced with a group of experienced players. An interesting feature of this move is that it can’t be blocked by objects.
It's an interesting little exploit and a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:pro tip for Dead By Daylight newbies is to use Shock Therapy near Pallets and Windows as its reach goes straight through it, hitt💯ing Survivors that thought they were safe with a Madness Tier and causing them to scream. This is incredibly helpful to The Doctor if you trigger it just before a player vaults because if they’re h༒it their screaming state prevents them from vaulting, opening them up for a solid melee swing with his big spiky stick.
2 Swiཧng That Stick
The Doctor has a lot of tricks up his sleeve and as devastating as t🐬hey are, sometimes it’s more efficient to give someone you’re chasing a big bonk to the head with his spike-covered stick instead.
Popping off one of his powers will cause you to slow down in your chase for a moment and if you miss, your target is just going to easily slip away. His swing has a wide arc and fast animation, so it’s more reliable than you think. As long as you’re close you’re reliably going to get a hit, so if you’re on a hunt just give someone a smac🐈k instead of trying to get too fancy.
1 Use Illusions To Your Advantage ✤
A great tip for playing as The Doctor is to lean into how he messes with his victim's minds. What’s meant by that is, when someones is at maximum Madness, instead of aggressively hunting them, try torturing them by pretending to be an illusion.
Stand in doorways and don’t move. They’ll either panic beca🐼use they can’t tell the difference between what’s real and what isn’t, or even better, they’ll ignore you. If a player is convinced you’re just another hallucination, not only are they opening themselves up to an ambush, but they might lead you to other Survivors. Plus, their lack of reaction could cause nearby players to also think you’re an illusion as they walk straight into a trap.
