Diving into DR:DR to see whaꦍt'𝓡s new in the deluxe remaster.

The Raincoat 𓄧Cult will roam the mall from the moment you run into them until near the end of your playthrough, making navigating the hoards of zombies that much more nightmarish. But fear not. You can deal with them pretty easily with the right tools at your disposal.

How To Find The Raincoat Cult

Frank West slashing at hoards of Raincoat Cultists with a Katana in attempts to rescue Jennifer from a box in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

Unlike most Psychopath Scoops, the Raincoat Cult is never announced by Otis, so you must stumble upon them yourself during your playthrough if you want to take them on. To do this, head to Paradise Plaza on the second day and make your way over to the entrance of Colby's Movie Land at 1pm.

These Cultists will be here until 10am of the following day, so you have time to bump into them. Once you get near their ritual, a cutscene will play where the leader of True Eye (Raincoat Cult) attempts to sacrifice Jennifer, who is trapped in a box. However, he spots Frank and sics his Cultists on him and flees the scene.

Like most Psychopaths in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, yoꦓu may have to rescue some Survivors before the Raincoat Cult appears. If they aren't there at the time specified above, try bringing a few Survivors back to the Safe Room; that should do the trick!

How To Defeat The Raincoat Cult

As mentioned above, the Raincoat Cult is an odd type of Psychopath, as they don't go away until you defeat their leader, which won't be until near the end of the game. They will be seen in large groups spread across the entire mall and will instantly ta🌃rget you the moment they spot you.

Weapons such as the Katana, Submachine Gun, and Chainsaw make quick work of them, so always try to have them on you after you trigger them into your playthrough. They also offer a tremendous amount of PP, offering 500 PP per Cultist, making them a godsend for farming EXP.

Regarding their attacks, they all have access to a knife that they will charge after you with, and some will pull out a stick of Dynamite before charging at you and diving into you, taking a large chunk of your health away alongside themself. These moves are telegraphed pretty well, but their large groups can make i🐷t hard🐻 to deal with.

However, their most potent attack outside the Dynamite is their Sleep Powder, which will temporarily stun Frank, forcing you to mash Square/X to regain his footing. If you don't do it in time, they will kidnap you and take you into one of their hideouts.

Don't forget to save Jennifer after you defeat the first group of Cultists and b𒈔ring her back to the Security Room for a decent chunk of PP. There will also be a few more Survivors nearby, so grab them too if you haven't already!

How To Escape The Raincoat Cult's Hideout

Frank West escaping a wooden crate inside of the Raincoat Cult's hidden base in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

If the Raincoat Cult happens to knock you out with their Sleep Powder and drag you away, you will wake up inside of their hideout... in nothing but your underwear. Yup, you will lose your entire inventory, as well as the clothes on your back, making it all the more shameful.

Escaping The Raincoat Cult's Hideout

After coming to and climbing out of the crate, there will be a Cardboard Box to the right. Pick it up and throw it against the wall to break it open, revealing a Saw Blade inside. Grab the Saw Blade and round the corner to see a group of many Raincoat Cultists standing around.

Throw the Saw Blade at the group of Raincoat Cultists to swiftly take out a handful of them in one go, then run past them and to the right to find a Sword lying on a tarp with their logo on it. This will make quick work of the rest of them, so go nuts on them🥃, watching out for the occasional ꦐbomber.

Taking out the last Cultist in this room will give you access to the Passcode of the hideout, allowing you to exit the room via the door next to the crate you crawled out of. This will spit you out near the northeast section of Leisure Park, so you won't have that far to go to get back inside the mall. Don't forget to snap photos of the two PP Stickers inside their hideout before leaving!
