Dead Rising Deluxe༒ Remaster - Adam The Clown Psychopath Guide
One of Dead Rising's early roadblocks is Adam t💙he Clown - here's how to defeat him.
While almost every item in Dead Rising is good for something, some weapons are simply far better than others. If you've played the original game, then you no doubt remember the Small Chainsaw, a unique unlockable weapon that is incredibly overpowered and can slice through zombies with ease.
How To Unlock The Small Chainsaw
To unlock the Small Chainsaw, you're going to need to defeat Adam the Clown, one of Dead Rising's first and most iconic Psychopath battles. Adam's scoop is called Out of Control, and it's active from 9pm on the first night until 11am the next day. You'll ♏get a call from Otis telling you that the Space Rider machine in Wonderland Plaza is out of control and needs to be fixed.
Head to Wonderland Plaza and you'll see the spaceship rollercoaster in the middle of the room is spinning around much faster than usual. Once you've interacted with the control panel, you'll have to defeat Adam, who is a lot easier this time around but still a challenging fight if you don't know what to expect. Head in with a few firearms, a powerful melee weapon, and some healing items and you should be fine.
Once Adam has been defeated, he'll drop the Small Chainsaw for Frank to use. As the name implies, the Small Chainsaw is a miniature bladed weapon that can cut through zombies and humans with ease. Its small-size and decent durability means that it's a much better version of the regular Chainsaw and won't be knocked out of Fra🙈nk's hands if hꦰe's hit.
Like the other unlockable weapons, this Small Chainsaw will respawn whenever you go back into Wonderland Plaza, which makes it an essential early-game tཧool for getting through Psychopaths and the hordes of zombies.
If you want to instantly have access to two Small Chainsaws, pick up the one that Adam drops before stopping the Spacℱe Rider. Trigger that cutscene and you'll see that another has already spawned in on the ground.
How To Upgrade The Small Chainsaw
Once you've gotten your hands on the Mini Chainsaw, you're likely going to want to keep a hold of it for as long as possible. While it's true that you can just revisit Wonderland Plaza and pick it back up where Adam drops it as many times as you need, its durability can actually be upgraded massively if you get the right books.
You'll need to keep the books in Frank's inventory at all times for them to effect weapons. If you're not a high-level and don't have much inventory space, it's worth only holding onto one in the ea𒐪rly-game.
Entertainment
The first book that upgrades the Small Chainsaw is called Entertainment, and it can be found in Bachman's Bookporium on 🍰the ground floor of Paradise Plaza. This book will triple the durability of entertainment-based items, which includes the Small Chainsaw for some reason. This book is one of the easiest to find in the game, so it's well worth holding onto once you've defeated Adam.
Engineering
The second book is simply called Engineering, and it's located in the same bookstore where you'll find the Entertainment book - Bachman's Bookporium in Paradise Plaza. This book will triple the durability ൲of weapons found in hardware stores, including the Smal🔯l Chainsaw.
Criminal Biography
The third and final book that affects the Small Chainsaw is called Criminal Biography, which can be found in Sir Book-a-lot on the first floor of Wonderland Plaza. Criminal Biography triples the durability of bladed weapons. Since it's so close to where the Small Chainsaw is dropped, ꦡit's a good oneౠ to go for first.
Keeping all three books in your inventory will cause their effects to stack, which means you can increase the Small Chainsaw's durability by a total of 900 percent, making it nearly unbreakable.
