Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster - Steven Chap﷽man Psychopath Guide

Steven is one of Dead Rising Deluไxe Remaster's first mandatory Psychopaths - here's how to rec🧔laim his store.

For anyone who hasn't suffered the hell that is Dead Rising's final day, the Special Forces are a special enemy type that show up during Day 3 of Dead Rising's 72 Hour Mode and throughout all of Overtime Mode. They're easily the hardest enemy in the game, so here's how you deal wi😼th them.

Dead Rising marks the Special Forces as 𓄧Psychopaths whenever ♊you defeat them, which gives you 5,000 PP points. They aren't really bosses, though, just like the Cultists.

How To Easily Defeat The Special Forces

Frank using the lift up move in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.

When the Special Forces first arrive in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, they'll basically become the new main threat of the game until they disappear at 10am on the third day. They are incredibly dangerous due to the machine guns they carry (which can be picked up by Frank) and because they have an absurd amount of health compared to the cultists. If they t﷽eam up on you and y🍃ou get caught in their bullets, prepare for trouble.

Although weapons like the Small Chainsaw and Machete are helpful against the Special Forces, there's a much easier way of dealing with them. If Frank performs a grabbing skill move like the Lift Up, Hammer Throw, Suplex, or Disembowel, they'll die in one hit. By this point in the game, you're guara♈nteed to have unlocked at least one of them, 💦so just get up close, tank the damage as much as possible, and use whatever move is easiest.

This is a big change from Dea♛d Rising's original release, as the grab skills were all a pain to pull off with weird button prompts. That's not the case here, though, which makes them a lot easier to deal with overall. It's by far the easiest and most reliable way of d♎ealing with them, and essential to clearing 72 Hour Mode and Overtime Mode.

Not only are the special moves the best way to deal with the Special Forces, but there's also a challenge for defeating 30 of them barehanded, so it's worth doing either way.

How To Escape The Special Forces If Frank Gets Captured

Frank West after having been captured by the Special Forces.

If the Special Forces manage to deplete all of your health during the final day of 72 Hour Mode or Overtime Mode, Frank won't actually be killed like usual. Instead, a cutscene will play and he'll be tied up in a helicopter that's parked in the Leisure Park parking lot. You'll be prompted to help Frank escape by mashing the attack button, but you need to do it whenever both Spec Ops members have their backs turned.

Make sure to hold the button down if you've changed it to hold instead of mash. I forgot that during the sequence and ended up failing bef✱ore I realised.

If the Special Forces members catch you trying to escape, they'll knock Frank out and two hours of in-game time will pass, which is dangerous considering when they appear in the game. You just need to time it right and make sure you're only hitting the button when they're not looking. Escaping will cause Frank to appear in the parking lot, where he'll have lost all his items 🌜and clothes, so i🍸t's best to avoid it altogether if you can.
