Isaac Clarke, you depraved, wretched soul.
Complaining about that homework assignment again, or is it that pesky internet cutting out this time? Before responding, take some time to carefully evaluate your answer. Oh, and maybe add in the fact that you're trapped on an abandoned mining vessel left stranded on a deep-space, ill-fated expedition with a rapidly growing and overwhelmingly pissed-off alien infestation.
That homework isn't lookin' too shabby now, is it?
His first plunge into 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:necromorph territory might have only been defined by a few grunts and screams, but Isaꦛac has endured more than enough Hell to write a New York Times bestselling autobiography at a local Barnes and Noble near you. Here are ten facts you never knew about Isaac Clarke!
10 🐠 Like Fꦬather, Like Son
Isaac Clarke was born on June 5, 2465, to parents Poul Clarke, a ship designer, and Octavia Clarke, a𝐆 devote Unitologist 🦄in the Northeastern American seaboard sector.
At a young age, Isaac's father left on an extended mission before the two could solidify a typical paternal relationship. Isaac was well aware of this but made an effort to follow in his father's footsteps in hopes of one day reuniting. Growing up with his mother was tough, considering her frivolous financial behavior and her obsessive compulsion to the Unitology faith -- or lack thereof.
Though Isaac had essentially grown up fatherless, he made quite the name for himself through ed🎃ucation.
9 💙 Top Of His Class
After studying hard in school, Isaac was selected to attend a prominent engineering academy. Though this news was extremely exciting, yet not particularly surprising, Isaac would not be able to afford the institution's tuition fees due to his mother's negligence. Instead of sending her son to one of the best engineering schools to pursue his father's career, she purchased a well-vested title within the Church of Unitology, becoming all the more consumed by its drastic ideologies.
It is from this moment forward that 🍎Isaac grew a profound hatred for the religion and a concerning amount of disdain towards his own mother. Isaac later went on to achieve the highest academic honors 🐠at a lesser-known university, eventually joining the Merchant Marines division of the Concordance Extraction Corporation (C.E.C.). Not exactly the fairytale ending from here on out.
8 🐭 He Was Subject To Psychological Torture Beforꦓe The Events Of The Sequel
Before the events of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dead Space 2, Isaac's shuttle was recovered and taken back to Titan Station. After Earth Gov deemed Isaac a good candidate for psychological experimentation, he was subject to isolation and testing under Project Telomere for three grueling years. Confined to the Psych Ward in Titan Memorial Medical Center, Isaac, similarly to Nolan Stross and others, was later diagnosed with dementia and an extreme case of PTSD.
It was his ability to overcome the more common and fatal side effects of the Marker's infection, and the imprint of Marker 3A left behind from the USG Ishimura that made him the perfect candidate for Project Telomere. Earth Gov would use memory suppressants to hinder the full effects of the Marker's imprint on the patient, but the same hallucinations continued to plague his psyche.
It is with Isaac's mind that Earth Gov discovered the key to essentially destroying and recreating a Marker. The apple in which God never intended Eve to pick.
7 🐈 His Relationship With Ellie Pre-D🥃ead Space 3
Tau Volantis might have been the highlight of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dead Space 3, but most of us were left wondering about Isaac and Ellie's ill-fated relationship. After escaping the Sprawl, Isaac and an, ahem, eye-less Ellie build a romantic relationship while taking residence in the Earthrise apartments on Luna's New Horizon's Lunar Colony.
Things quickly went south for the couple, due largely in part to Isaac's consistent psychological episodes. It's understandable after surviving an alien infestation twice only to discover that your ex-girlfriend, who killed herself befo෴re you could rescue her, haunts your existence. True love kn🌄ows no bounds, inevitably bringing Isaac on another adventure that he has no business being on in the first place.
6 Isaac Had No Prior Combat Training 𓂃 ♉
Issac is a resourceful guy when it comes to fighting off the Necromorph horde, which is why his lack of any combat training prior to the events of the U🌞SG Ishimura comes as a complete surprise.
Thankfully, Issac is a quick learner, utilizing the litany of logs from fallen survivors to aid in his fight against the Necromorphs. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to decipher, "Cut Off Their Limbs," but still, it's impressive for someone with no combat background.
What's even more impressive is that the guy who wrote this figured it would be easier to write it in blood than meandering around the halls trying to find a paint can and brush. Isaac's inexperience shows in the first game, as he holds his plasma cutter in one hand. In the sequels, however, he wields his plasma cutter with two hands. That extra hand support proves he's a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:combat expert.
5 His Psy🐼chological and Physiologic🦂al Resistance To The Marker
Earth Gov deemed Isaac to be the perfect candidate for Project Telomere due largely in part to his overall resistance to the Marker's imprint. Most who had come into contact with the marker were either driven insane, homicidal, suicidal, or all three. That's not to say Isaac's encounter with the Marker left him completely unscathed either. His rampant hallucinations embodied by his now-deceased girlfriend Nicole, continue to afflict him throughout the series.
Earth Gov monitored Isaac's catatonic response, therefore discovering the secret to harnessing the full power of the Marker, and conversely, the weapon to use against it.
4 ಞ How Old Is Isaac?
Though Isaac is 49 years old in actuality, the effects of Stasis containmeꦉnt during his first three years on the Sprawl put him, biologically, between the ages of 47 and 48. Surely the physical and mental trauma of his later years 🐬aged him significantly.
3 Isaac Takes Damage Seven Times In Dead Spa🌃ce 2
Canonically speaking, yes, Isaac only takes damage in seven instances throughout the campaign. Obviously, when the player manages to get Isaac's head eaten clean off or his torso severed from his extremities, he's not actually dying and coming back to life. That would be silly.
According to Dead Space 2, Isaac takes damage from a Slasher in Chapter 1 when escaping the Psych Ward, from the train derailment in Chapter 2, from the Tormenter in Chapter 5, from a Drag Tentacle in Chapter 11, from being thrown off of a massive drill towards the start of Chapter 13 and from a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:needle to the eye in the Noontech Diagnostic Machine in the same chapter, and finally from Tiedemann after he impales Isaac twice with the 💃Javelin gun.
Honestly, decapitation sounds like a ▨more favorab🐼le fate when compared to what he actually endured.
2 𝓰 Isaac Voluntarily Embarked On Thꦇe USG Ishimura Mission
Talk about bad luck and poor judgment. He really secured a ticket on the Titanic with this one. Imagine if Isaac never volunteered. In hindsight, the Marker's existence would inevitably be found and sought after because, well, humans.
In the year 2508, Isaac voluntarily joined the USG Kellion on an emergency response unit to investigate the mysterious distress signals sent out by the USG Ishimura. The mining vessel was last seen over the planet ꦰAegis VII on an illegal mission. Isaac and his team were sent to locate the USG Ishimura and uncover the reasoning behind the communications blackout.
We all know what happens from there, and it ain't sunshine and rainbows.
1 ൩ Isaac Was A Litt📖le Camera Shy
As some of you might have picked up, Isaac doesn't speak, let alone show his face very often in the first game. That all changes later on in the sequels, but the decision to make him borderline mute in the first game only amplifies the terror of his surroundings.
That's the beauty behind Dead Space -- we never needed a yappy protagonist because the environment was a more compelling antagonist. The 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:upcoming remake, however, ꦗplans to instill a little more life in♑to Isaac.
