Today, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Motive gave us our first good look at the upcoming 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dead Space remake’s gameplay. Motive Games senior producer Philippe Decharme and creative director Roman Campos-Oriola were joined by Dead Space "community council" members Jackie Butler and Kahlief Adams (who were both coincidentally Twitch streamers) to reveal some very early pre-alpha footage showcasing the game's atmospheric upgrades and vastly improved lighting.
But the biggest reveal was probably the new dismemberment system coming in the remake. Fans of the original will remember that the first Dead Space had something known as "strategic dismemberment" where cutting off a Necromorph's arms or legs would make them far easier to deal with in subsequent shots from a plasma cutter. That's still very much a feature in the Dead Space remake, but now it's even more involved.
Roman explained an all-new feature that was being implemented in the remake's Frostbite engine called "peeling." As the name implies, peeling is how the game will visually show damage to an enemy as you literally blast away chunks of flesh to expose the bone beneath.
Peeling isn't just a gross new graphical technology, though--it's also functional. Exposed bones indicate weakened areas of your enemies where repeated shots will lead to easier dismemberment. Certain weapons are better at peeling than others, while other weapons might be better at the final dismembering blow.
There were a few more reveals in today's Dead Space livestream. The game's zero-G sections are getting more freedom of movement to actually feel like floating in space, and this might eventually lead to entirely new areas with new challenges. Dead Space's story will also tie a bit more into the rest of the Dead Space universe with more mentions of characters and events that were previously only shown in Dead Space 2 and 3.
And unlike the original Dead Space, the player will be voiced by none other than Gunnar Wright, the voice of Is𓄧aac in Dead Space 2 and 3.
Judging by the footage we were shown, Dead Space is still a long way away from a release date, but it's looking like it'll be a worthy remake when it eventually arrives.
