David Leitch - director of Deadpool 2 and co-director of John Wick, has just now si💃gned on to direct Tom Clancy's The Division, a movie based on the massively successful Ubisoft game. The game is set in a devastated New York City after a small pox plague - spread through paper currency- has killed millions and left the city's safety in the hands of trained civilians. Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain have already been attached to the movie as its stars.
Released in March 2016 on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, Tom Clancy's The Division went on to quickly become Ubisoft's best-selling game at the time. The game has since earned over $300 million worldwide, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:and a sequel has been ♔confirmed to be on the way.
Syriana director Stephen Gaghan had originally been attached to the movie, but he dropped out. Leitch himself is on a hot streak lately - apart from Deadpool 2, which opens soon, he's also been sign💎ed on to direct a Fast & Furious spin-off.
, L﷽eitch's usual producing partner, Kelly McCormick, will be producing The Division a♍longside him.
Of course, as successful as The Division was, it is not exactly on everyone's𒉰 minds these days; fans multiplayer shooters have drifted in☂ the direction of Battle Royale games such as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite.
So who exactly is this movie for? It might appeal to hardcore Tom Clancy fans - of ♋which there are at least three - and if the moꩵvie can coincide with the game's sequel, they might get a bit of a bump there. Still, the game itself doesn't have much of a plot, after its admittedly solid hook, so it's impossible to say right now just what the movie could be about.
Star Jake Jillinhawl is no stranger to video game movies - he was the unlikely star of the live-action P🎃rince Of Persia movie from a few years back. So... don't get your hopes u🌳p that this movie will be any good.
