If you're stuck with a PS4 copy of Death Stranding but have made the jump to the next generation with the PS5, you're in luck. Sony just announced that you will be able to upgrade from the base PS4 game to the PS5 Director's Cut Digital Edition on PS5 for £5.
You won't need to pay the difference in full-price games, just that £5 and you can begin upgrading this Friday. The PlayStation UK official Twitter account also said that you can you physical discs to upgrade, you just need to pop the PS4 disc in whenever you want to download or play the PS5 version.
A couple of folks followed up to make sure it wasn't the £10 price we've seen other games cost, and no, Sony says it really is just a fiver. The Director's Cut brings a ton of content on the cheap, including new missions, new equipment, a racing mode, a video mode, and DualSense features. Probably enough to warrant a revisit if you liked the Mikkelsen/Reedus/Del Toro/Kojima adventure.
