The trailer begins as you might expect any epic dungeon adventure 𒁃to begin. A warrior prepares to attack a hallway full of en𒉰emies (as a booming voiceover narrates his every move), but he is quickly interrupted by the rest of his party asking him to just take his turn. The camera zooms out to reveal four avatars standing around a square table with a gameboard set up on top of it. The table itself? Located in a room that very much resembles that of a basement - where plenty of tabletop games such as Dungeons & Dragons take place.

Demeo is a game where you and up to three other players literally take part in a virt𓆉ual tabletop adventure. Gameplay appears to feature the use of both dice rolls and cards that grant you special abilities, with corresponding animations that bring the gameboard to life, providing an even more immersive experience.

Player-driven strategy also seems to be a major component of Demeo, meanꩵing that players will need to work together to successfully make it through the dungeons, taking on t🦩he available roles of Guardians, Sorcerers, Assassins, and Hunters. It all appears to add up to an incredibly fun and collaborative experience that both PC and VR players can play together, thanks to Demeo’s cross-play functionality.

“Our goal in creating Demeo was to design a shared gaming adventure for friends to become completely immersed in fantasy worlds, where they can step out of their everyday experiences and find🔯 a🍌 chance to escape the outside world together,” said Tommy Palm, CEO of Resolution Games. “It’s very much like an old school game night with friends, but now with a bit of previously impossible wish-fulfillment: your thought of ‘man, I wish I could be in this game,’ has actually come true, and it’s more incredible than you ever imagined.”

“It’s so easy to get lost in the different environments of the game,” added Palm. “Are you sitting around a table playing a board game with friends in your parents’ basement? Yes. Are you a hero exploring levels of a dungeon and facing hordes of monsters and traps with your fellowship of warriors? Also yes. It’s this combined experiඣence that’s so reminiscent of traditional tabletop gaming with friends that makes Demeo such an engಌaging experience.”

Demeo will be the first title from Resolution Games that will be released for both VR platforms as well as traditional gaming PC devices as a non-VR title - the cross-play compatibility offering up the game to a much larger audience. No release date has been confirmed, other than sometime later this y💙ear.
