Xbox revealed a new Destiny 2: Beyond Light trailer during their Games Showcase today, while also revealing some exciting Destiny news for Xbox Series X and Project xCloud.

The 1-minute trailer is more or less a montage of Stasis abilities, the new energy type confirmed to be coming in the fall expansion, Beyond Light. Stasis is the 4th energy type, alongside solar,𒉰 void, and arc, and will bring new subclasses and weapon types to the game.

The trai♒ler gives a better look at some Stasis abilities we've seen before, and a first look at new abilities we haven't seen yet. One of the coolest abilities♑ shown is a Hunter grenade that creates ice platforms on impact. Given that Void Hunters have grenades as part of their melee abilities, it's possible this is either a new Hunter Stasis grenade or melee.

Another cool ability revealed is a ground pound that sends a shockwave of jagged ice forward in a wide cone. It seems to be the new Titan super and is reminiscent of Reinhardt's ultimate in Overwatch.

Other new stasis abilities include an ice-style Blade Barrage, a stasis grenade ꦰthat freezes enemies in place, and a grenade that creates walls of ice (though this might be the same as the one that creates platforms). We also saw a stylish ground-pound attack that freezes enemies below before landing on them and shattering them, which looks likely to be a Titan melee attack.

The trailer followed an announcement Sarah Bond, Head of Xbox Partnerships & Ecosystem, which revealed that Destiny 2 will be coming to Xbox Series X and Xbox Game Pass this fall. When Destiny 2 launches on Game Pass this September, subscribers will be able to play all New Light as well as both expansions, Forsaken and Shadowkeep.

Finally, Bond also revealed that Game Pass Ultimate members will have access to Destiny 2 on mobile, streaming through Project xCloud. When Beyond Light releases in November, it will be playable on🉐 Xbo⛄x Series X in 4k resolution at 60 frames per second.

The Beyond Light delay led to some disappointment last week, but news like this certainly keeps the hype train on t𒆙rack.
