Taking a look on social media, it appears that a handful of players are getting through. However, even more are complaining of queues lasting more than an hour, and others say they've been kicked from the servers.

This demand is caused by The Final Shape expansion, which is going live now. However, it appears that very few players are able to play it, as the servers are struggling to cope w♔ith so many fans logging it at the same time.

Bungie Responds To Destiny 2 Server Issues

Bungie says that Destiny 2 is currently undergoing "background maintenance", as the team is aware of the reports of long queue times. Right now, there's no timeframe on when these issues will be addressed, with the Bungie Help account simply telling fans to "stay tuned for more updates".

In the meantime, demand only continues to grow. If it doesn't slow down soon, then it may surpass its PC concurrent player record of 316,750, which was set last February. Now, it might surpass this while many of those "online" aren't actually playing the game, and are instead waiting in a queue, or even struggling to access the queue in the first place.

At the very least, fans will be able to play The Final Shape when the servers are stable again. This will come as a relief to those who have been trying to avoid spoilers, as the ex♑pansion wꦉent live on PlayStation days earlier than intended, making par💙ts of it playable before it was taken oꦚffline again.
