168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Destiny 2 is fast approaching its fourth year of content, debuting with the Beyond Light expansion. Many ar💞e excited about the new S༺tasis Subclasses and exploring the icy planet of Europa, but there is much more to a year than an expansion.

Bungie has focused on adding quarterly updates called seasons to Destiny 2 as a way of preventing content droughts. It has had mixed results. Some seasons have had much more success than others based on their core activity . With a new expansion around the corner, now is a great time to look ahead at what Bungie should and shouldn't do for Year 4 of Destiny 2. This article contains spoilers for Destiny 2's various campaigns.

10 ♛ Hope To See: Stasis Gear ⭕

Destiny 2: Beyond Light will finally allow Guardians to wield the power of the Darkness with the new Stasis Subclass. Bungie made it clear that this would also be implemented as a core damage type in Destiny 2.

This fall will no doubt have a plethora of new gear to chase, but it would be a missed opportunity if some of that gear wasn't tainted by the Darkness. Stasis weapons could be a great opp𝕴ortunity to add new Darkness-themed weapon perks or mods to spice up the PvE and PvP metas.

9 🐲 Don't Want: Reskinned Enemies 🐷

Enemy variety is key to any grindy shooter. While 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Destiny has a wide range♏ of factions, it's had a hard time introducing new factions or faction variants.

SIVA Fallen, Ice Hive, and arguably the Taken are reskins of other enemies with slight ability tweaks. With the Darkness fast approaching, these alterations to core factions should be much more im꧑pactful. Hopefully, the Fallen we fight on Europa this fall will have 💛significant ability alterations to keep combat fresh.

8 👍 Hope To See: Artifact Revisions

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Destiny 2: Shadowkeep introduced the seasonal Artifact system. A💮s players earn experi🥃ence, the Artifact grants additional Power level and unlocks powerful time-limited mods for weapons and armor.

Not all mods from this Artifact are equal, however. The first column is dedicated to anti-Champion mods while the third cꦆolumn grants economy mods that enhance Glimmer and resource gains that no one uses. These Champion mods should not be rotated out, and the Glimmer column should be reworked entirely to give mods more iꦇn line with the last two columns.

7 💎 ꦯ Don't Want: Reliance On FOMO

Destiny 2 Season 11 Legendary Loot
Destiny 2 Season 11 Legendary Loot

Fear of missing out, known as FOMO amongst the community, has been a core pillar of Bungie's seasonal model since Shadowkeep launched.

Instead of inspiring players to pursue aspirational content, it has done the exact opposite and caused hardcore players to leave in droves. Activities that are designed around planned obsolescence tend to play it safe by being a 6-man activity with an additional mechanic 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:such as throwing orbs. Not only is this boring, but it forces players to grind items they might otherwise not be interested in because they're afraid those items will never return. Bungie has already stated their plans to make FOMO less of an issue in Year 4, but many believe that the core seasonal model doesn't fit the aspirational pursuits Destiny is known for.

6 ꦗ Hope To See: Subclass 2.0

Weapons were reverted to random rolls in Forsaken, armor was enhanced in Shadowkeep, but Subclasses still use the preset loadouts that Destiny 2 launched with.

Since much of the original Destiny is making its way back into Destiny 2 thanks to the Destiny Content Vault, bringing Subclasses back to the skill grid system seen in the first game would do wonders for build diversity. The new Stasis Subclass will use a more customizable system when Beyond Light 🐓launches, so this is more likely t🦩o happen sometime in Year 4 than not.

5 🌌 Don't Want: 6-Man Matchmade Activity

You can't have a new season in Destiny 2 without expecting a 6𓂃-man activity that is either a Public Event or a matchmade activity, complete with a meta-progression system that requires ꦡa new currency type.

This is no doubt thanks to the resounding success of Season of Opulence's Menagerie activity. Nearly every activity introduced since has include🍬d a system similar to the Chalice of Opulence and the 6-man matchmade nature of the Menagerie. It has become stale, and the constant re-grinding of a meta-progression system to unlock gear you care about is fatiguing at best. Year 4 needs to focus on including that type of intentionality to Strikes, Crucible, Gambit, and Patrol spaces rather than adding a new activity that will become obsolete when the next one arrives.

4 Hope To See: Umbral Engram Expansion 🧔

Umbral Engrams are a new system♔ introduced in Season of Arrivals that act as Legendary Engrams you can influence. These engrams can be forced to drop high-stat armor or a small s🍨election of weapons.

Menagerie and the Sundial utilized a system similar to this incredibly well, but both had convoluted upgrade systems that took weeks to level up. Umbral Engrams are easy to understand, it takes little grind to focus engrams into what you want, and can be obtained from any activity in the game. Legendary Engrams need to be retired and replaced with this system entirely. This is the future of target farming gear in Destiny 2.

3 🥃 Don't Want: 🗹Cliffhanger Ending

Cliffhangers and Destiny are an inseparable duo. Every expansion and season has introduced a new plot thread that was left unresolved to this da🐬y.

Will the Dreaming City curse ever be broken? Is Xol ever going to return? Where is Uldren Sov now that he's a Guardian? So many plot threads keep being introduced but never resolved, and it seems Bungie is going to introduce even more this fall. Beyond Light needs to have a conclusive ending with no plot threads if Bun🌄gie hopes to ever move the narrative forward.

2 ⭕ Hope To See: The Veil

Leaks surrounding Destiny 2 typically refer to the Darkness faction as💛 the Veil. While little is known about them besides a few pieces of concept art, the buildup surrounding the Darkness needs to pay off soon.

Beyond Light is the perfect opportunity to introduce the Veil as a new enemy faction. Destiny desperately needs new enemies to fight that aren't reskins of enemies. The Scorn are undead Fallen and the Taken are reskinned enemies with 🐼new abilities. A truly new enemy faction has not been introduced sin♌ce the first game launched back in 2014. Adding the Veil as a tough enemy tied to the new Raid would be a fantastic way to make that Raid both challenging and memorable for players.

1 🍒 Don't Want: Recycled L🎀oot

New expansions in Destiny always have new loot to chase. Unfortunately, the degree of new loot introduced in every🌃 expansion has decreased.

Destiny 2 has not seen a vendor refresh since Forsaken almost 2 years ago. With Bungie's proposed 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:gear sunsetting system entering full swing this fall, many are concerned that a vendor refresh would be nothing more than Year 1 and 2 gear having a higher infusion cap. This has already happened with Season of Arrivals with the new Dungeon granting IKELOS guns from Warmind and most of Gambit's items coming back with no new perk combinations or visual differences. If Bungie doubles down on this in Year 4, it will drastically hit the reception that expansion rece♛ives.
