Bungie is nerfing snipers in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Destiny 2 back to pre-Shadowkeep levels, and players are pissed.
At the end of February, Bungie announced a bunch of changes coming with the next season. Those changes included a slew of nerfs that targeted some of the game’s best weapons, including High-Impact Fusion Rifles, Aggressive Frame Grenade Launchers, as well 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:all sniper rifles.
Players aren’t happy about these nerfs, but the sniper rifle nerfs seem particularly egregious. They’re reducing snipers back down to their pre-Shadowkeep levels, which means a 20% overall reduction in damage to major enemies, Adaptive Frame sniper rifles having their crit damage multiplier 🍸reduced from 3.25x to 2.95x, and Rapid-Fire Frame snipers having their overall damage reduced by 10%.
Those are some pretty hefty nerfs, but what galls a lot of players is how they seem totally unnecessary. Bungie’s argument, as posted in their recent news update, explained that they felt that snipers had become too powerful, allowing players to attack wit🍨h sufficient damage from a safe distance. .
Before Shadowkeep, snipers were considered one of the worst weapons that used special ammo. After Shadowkeep, sniper rifles came into vogue. Tranquility especially impressed new players for being a relatively easy to acquire Legendary sniper that could drop with Firing Line, a perk that boosted its overall DPS well beyond that of other sniper rifles (𓆏save for Sole Survivor which is much more difficult to obtain). Snipers were good, but they were certainly not overpowered and certainly not prevalent enough to warrant this heavy-handed action.
However, another problem came with the Shadowkeep sniper buff. Izanagi’s Burden became the go-to boss killer for most encounters as it could combine four shots into a single, high🐭-powered blast. Many groups in the LFG Discord wouldn’t even allow a player to join if that 🥃player didn’t have Izanagi’s Burden with a completed catalyst.
Izanagi had certainly become a problem deserving correction, and so Bungie is giving Izanagi’s Burden a special set of nerfs that will hopefully bring it back under control (namely, removing Outlaw and replacing it with No Distractions while also removing reload speed perks from affecting Honed Edge). But nerfing all snipers just because of one problematic Exotic 🏅seems excessive.
Players on the Destiny subreddits , but Bungie seems to be sticking to their guns. A new meta will certainly arise with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Season of the Worthy, but with so many weapons nerfed, nobody is quite 🦩sure what that meta will be.
