Twitch's #1 Destiny 2 streamer Gladd broke the record for th✱e longest sub train this past week with over 28,000 back to back subscriptions.
During a 42 hour stream last week, Gladd's longest ever, Gladd raked in over 40,000 n💦ew Twitch subscribers. 🍸The sub train (at least 1 sub ever 5 minutes) made up more than 28,000 of those subscriptions.
Gladd's massive stream is the result of a new Twitch "bounty" from Bungie that rewards viewers with a unique emblem and shader if they gift 2 subs to a Destiny 2 streamer. Shaders, which are used to recolor gear, are insanely popular with the Destiny community, and an exclusive like this is apparently too enticing to pass up. Players are backing up dump trucks full of money on Destiny 2 streamers and making it rain subs.
Gladd is far from the only streamer seeing a huge surge in subs. PvP player Mtashed says his subs jumped from 1700 to ♏11,335 in just 3 days. At an average of $3.50 per sub, that nearly $40,000. Gladd will rake in over $100k ⛎just this month in subs.
The Gifted Sub Bounty is part of Bungie's recently introduced Twitch extension for Destiny 2. The extension allows viewers to examine the streamer's gear anꦰd track their Trials of Osiris record each weekend. Viewers can even earn rewards by reacting to wins and losses. This Gifted Sub Bounty is rewardi🍷ng players with the "Stream of Light" emblem and "Watcher's Shade" shader for their first 2x gifted sub. There is no end date for the bounty, and Bungie has indicated in their most recent TWAB that there may be other rewards for gifted subs in the future.
