The story of Destiny 2 is an ever-evolving one but as Season of the Dawn comes to an end and the community gears up to deal the last desperate bid of The Red Legion (for like the third time), there remains several unfulfilled storylines just waiting to be expanded. One of the biggest ones is the still vacant 🍃Hunter Vanguard position. Bungie stated that they wanted Cayde-6's absence to be felt but it's now been a year and a half since Uldren Sov put a bullet in everyone's favorite Exo, and the Tower is no closer to naming his successor.
To be fair though, there isn't an easy answer. There is no clear line of succession for the position and Hunters as a whole are notoriously hard to conscript into it. But the need to find one looms ever larger with more cosmic threats on the way, so with that in mind here are eight potential candidates to step up as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Destiny 2's new Hunter Vanguard, ranked by likeliness.
8 Eris Morn
Eris Morn is one of the most famous Hunters in the world of Destiny. She was a part of the first raid on Crota's End and her insight has been instrumental in taking down Crota, Oryx⛄, and the Scarlett Keep. With Savathun's arrival on the horizon, maybe a Hive expert is exactly what the Toꦆwer needs?
Then again, the elephant in the room needs to be addressed. Eris may have been a Hunter at one point but the raid on the Hellmouth left her lightless and deformed, hardly the ideal conditions for Guardian leadership. On top of that, her investigation into the pyramid on the moon will keep her plenty busy for the foreseeable future. So when the time comes to choose Cayde's successor Eris's name will be brought up but h🐻er selection would be more than a little out the box.
7 Micah-10
Micah-10 is not a name most Destiny fans will be familiar wꦜith but she absolutely has the resume to become an effective Vanguard. She's personally responsible for growing The Last City's ranks as she spen🃏t many years shepherding and protecting Ghosts until they found their Guardians. One of those Guardians was even the former Hunter Vanguard, Andal Brask.
Micah is best known as the founder of the Six Coyotes, a legendary fireteam of Hunters often referenced in Destiny lore. The group famously saved the town of Coyote from a Fallen raid, guided many refugees to The Last City at great risk to themselves, and were the first to scout the Cosmodrome for future Guardian patrols. Micah's skill and leadership make her an ideal candidate, but her lack of individual fame comp🐻ared to the other me🐓mbers of this list and ongoing Six Coyotes activity make her another unlikely choice.
6 ꦫ 🍸 Shin Malphur
One of the most famous and powerful Hunters in Destiny, Shin Malphur is the originator of the Golden Gun technique and would bring a great deal of necessary strength and insight to the Vanguard. He's best known as the wielder of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the exotic hand cannon, The Last Word and for his legendary 🐓duel against the murderous Thorn-wielding Dr🍸edgen Yor.
Malphur has made an appearance in Destiny 2 already when he helped The Young Wolf hunt down the Hive who forged the Weapons of Sorrow. It was also revealed that he and Dredgen Vale are one and the same. The alter ego gave him the opportunities to walk the paths of light and dark and to hunt down the easily corruptible among his fellow Guardians. His knowledge of the Hive and progressive (if tyrannical) views o💟n Guardians wielding the Darkness will be important in the battles to come.
5 Ana Bray
Like Shin Malphur, Ana Bray stakes a legitimate claim as in Destiny history but comes without his fanaticism and penchant for tempting and killing fellow Guardians. According t🌌o legend, her heroism at the Battle of Twilight Gap left scorching fonts of light where her Golden Gun impacted the terrain that still burn to this🍃 day. Ana is also unique among Guardians as she has knowledge of her past life, one where she helped to develop the Warmind Rasputin.
She now serves as the Tower's liaison to the Warmind and will have a huge role in the upcoming Season of the Worthy. It's unclear if the events of this coming season will free her up to accept a promotion or make her role with Rasputin even more important. What is clear however is that her relationship with the Warmind, impressive talent for wielding the lig🤪ht, and mysterious connection with The Exo Stranger (her long lost sister Elsie Bray) make her an invaluable 𒅌asset for the Tower going forwards.
4 Lady Efride🔯et
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Lady Efrideet is a legendary sniper and one of only two Iron Lords to survive the original SIVA outbreak. After watchi𓂃ng her comrades die horrifically she lost her will to fight and joined an enclave of pacifist Guardians on the outer rim. She only returned to the Tower to monitor the Iron Banner during the second SIVA outbreak and only picked up a rifle again when the Red Legion leashed the Traveler.
During the assault to reclaim the Last City, Efrideet took up a sniper position and killed 216 Cabal with only 199 shots. She then returned to the outer rim but remains in contact with the tower, expressing a desire to make sure Guardians did not forget the lessons they learned when they lost their Light. That perspective along with her skill, status as an Iron Lord, and ne💮wly regained will to fight make her an ideal Vanguard candidate.
3 ꦺ Marcus Ren 🐎
Marcus has been a fixture in Destiny lore ever since his first mention way back in The Taken King. He's best known as a champion sparrow racer and mad inventor who developed both the Fr0st-EE5 and the St0mp-EE5 as well as many other, ahem, unique sparrows. On top of that, he's a capable guardi🌺an who was part of the teams deployed to the Cosmodrome in the wake of the SIVA Crisis.
Marcus's candidacy got a major boost during💜 the Ace in the Hole quest where Cayde left messages outlining the terms of his Vanguard Dare. In short, if a Hunter kills him then that individual gets his stuff, all of his stuff, including the Vanguard job. His best guess for which Hunter did the deed? Marcus Ren.
2 Shiro-4
Shiro-4 was last seen during Destiny's Rise of Iron expansion and is by all accounts the most qualified Vanguard successor. He served in a fireteam with both of the past two Hunter Vanguards, studied as Cayde's protege, is an expert codebreaker and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:personal weapon designer who created the Trespasser exotic sꩲidearm, and currently works as the Vanguard's top scout.
Shiro also has experience running ops as he planned and assigned the missions during the SIVA Crisis. His list of credentials is long and perhaps most importantly he doesn't currently possess a unique position like studying the pyramid artifact, hunting wayward Guardians, or communing with Rasputin. Under normal circumstances, lacking a clear successor via Cayde's Dare, the job would and s👍hould be his.
1 Uldre🍷n Sov ಞ
But the circumstances aren't normal. The circumstances, more likely than not, lead to Uldren Sov. Uldren, the former Awoken Crown Prince, served as Mara Sov's advisor and spymaster and tallied up deeds to rival the Guardians even without the benefit of Light. Most notably, he and a single ally were the first to breach The Black Garden. But when discussing Uldren, the events of Forsaken can't be ignored.
Uldren was lured into madness by the Taken Ahamkara, Riven, and in his madness he murdered Cayde-6. He was later executed by The Young Wolf and Pe🎀tra Venj only to be brought back as a Guardian sometime later. It is currently not confirmed that he is indeed a Hunter but given his skills in his previous life, it seems likely. Uldren is the only candidate to have held Vanguard level leadership position before and, as Cayde's murderer, he is the technically successor of Cayde's Dare. Uldren is the most likely candidate to assume the Vanguard position when he eventually reaches the Tower, despite the fury that appointment will stoke in other Guardians.
